We are now taking Christmas orders and will do so until the 18th.
If you would like any fish for NYE, please also pre order. It will need to be frozen as markets do not reopen until the new year.

Look at this guy! A gorgeous fresh bonito. I will be slicing this into bone-in steaks a bit later... But for now, I'll leave it as is to mesmerise customers.

It's been a while since these plump, uncompromisingly clean mussels have been in the shop due to a summer closure.
Come pick some up! Cheap, easy, filling and nutritious!

"you call that a clam? THIS is a clam!'
We have some cherrystone grade hard clams available today for only £15/kg. These are the best clams for stuffing. You can go wild with the flavours, but here's a classic I love:
Mirepoix Clams:
Steam clams in some wine until they are all open. Remove the top shell and loosen the meat, set aside.
Reserve all the clam broth! Finely dice some shallot, celery and carrot and saute in butter until just coloured. Add the clam broth and deglaze the pan. Season well with pepper - and only a bit of salt.. the broth will be quite salty already..
Spoon over the broth and mirepoix on each clam, top with breadcrumbs and Parmesan and place under the grill in your oven until GB&D (golden brown and delicious)

I always prepare for when I can't be bothered to cook on a hot day... As per English standard: it rains and is cool when you can't be bothered... Still:
Chicken fat fried ciabatta
Standard bruschetta
Tinned anchovy fillets
Reduced balsamic
It still tastes like summer.
Today and tomorrow, we're celebrating the return of Cornish sardines by giving away some butterflied sardines sandwiches. It's like an adult fish finger sandwich: sardines for the adult, crusts off for the kid in all of us.

Locally caught bluefin tuna is back again this week. This is a real special treat, but you have to try this awesomely rich, texturally delightful meaty fish for yourself!

We have some beautiful native lobsters available today! It's peak lobster season now, which means these guys are cheaper than usual. Take advantage while you can!
We have received another delivery of out-of-season sardines. Plenty on deck today, as well as butterflied sardine fillets.
Devilled Crab in the morning light.
Selling these today. I don't suspect they'll hang around long. Top with some panko bread crumbs, a pat of butter and some cayenne pepper. Bake at 200° for 20 minutes,.or until golden brown on top.

Looks like we have some summery weather this week... About time. Why not try some of these Cajun spiced cod steaks. Great on the BBQ or under the grill.
