The sun is out!

Most of us love the hot weather, but when it's too hot, there are health risks. Here are some tips for coping in the hot weather!

1) Keep out the heat if you can especially between 11am and 3pm, wear sunscreen, a hat and light clothing and avoid activities that makes you hotter.

2) Cool yourself down by having cold food and drinks, avoid alcohol, caffeine and hot drinks and have cold showers.

3) Keep your living space cool. You can close windows during the day and open them at night when the temperature outside has gone down.

It's Sun Awareness Week!

Whilst the sun isn't always shining 😞, the UK have a week where we raise an awareness to the effects of long exposures to sunlight and to encourage people to practice sun safety.
The focus this year will be around raising awareness of non-melanoma skin cancer and best practices for people to check their skin for this very common type of skin cancer. However, the sun can cause all sorts of health problems, like dehydration, heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
