I loved being surrounded by all the amazing banana and coconut trees whilst travelling through the countryside of Sri Lanka, so much greenery! So here is the first of my banana plant inspired pieces in mixed media 💛

There are advantages of being a painter when you are jet lagged!! Thankfully, this morning I feel my body clock is nearly back to normal. Enjoying these compositions and balance of colour. Not sure the natural light was quite right to capture its true self, but wanted to share it with you. Have a lovely Sunday, we are off to the cricket 🏏

Snowdrops
Looking forward to picking this one up on my return! It will be heading straight to to join my collection. Feeling inspired after being surrounded by the incredible landscape of Sri Lanka for the last two weeks. Lots In interesting shapes, textures, patterns and colours that I am looking forward to exploring!

Spring is on its way! The first of a couple of paintings I have waiting to be framed. Looking forward to seeing them when they are finished.

Happy New Year! Welcome back to my adult class this morning. We started off the term with some observational drawing of biscuits and sweet things. Lots of different approaches using a variety of medium.

Today we experimented using salt on our watercolour paintings to create texture and bauble sparkle! Such a fun evening 🎄

Acrylic paint everywhere this evening, but it was well worth it! Think some of these beauties might end up on a wall somewhere!! A fun evening with my after school art class, lots of laughter.

Don’t you love these mini landscapes that my adult group created this morning? There was a lot of prep involved getting their canvas ready. Lots of experimenting with colour and layering techniques. We might have another go next week!
