Ken Whites Murals 07/03/2023

Another old clip found on Swindon Viewpoint's Vimeo account, this one really is archive footage! Ken White being interviewed back in the 1980s about his murals. Ken has lived a life in the public eye. Some of this has been a result of working with Branson and some of it has been about creating murals that have lived in the public eye. What it has done has created an archive of film footage of interviews. It's just fascinating.

Ken Whites Murals Swindon's mural artist Ken White talks about his work in Swindon and around the world, recorded in the eighties.

Swindon Murals - Ken White 07/03/2023

We all enjoy 'getting involved' with our kids education and giving what we can. Here's a clip of artist Ken White 'back in the day' being interviewed about a mural he's painted at his kid's school. It also shows him being interviewed about a number of other murals he's painted over the years. A really lovely blast from the past with Ken looking hip and much younger!

Ken White is better known for creating nostalgic paintings from his youth and his time working in the Swindon GWR Yards. This collection of landscapes were painted over the lockdown years and possess a much quieter, almost still energy. Ken still remains loyal to his palette of rich yellows, burnt siennas and vivid greens, which creates a comfortable warmth one wants to linger in. All paintings are for sale on our website and available to view by appointment: https://www.axlearts.com/painters/ken-white/

Ken White | Who Painted Virgin's Scarlet Lady? 02/03/2023

Who Painted Virgin’s Scarlet Lady?

Artist Ken White worked with Richard Branson for twenty years from 1984 to 2004. He painted murals in his record stores, airport lounges, hotels and offices. He also created the iconic Scarlet Lady, also referred to as the Flying Lady, that used to sit on the nose of most Virgin Atlantic aeroplanes. Curious? Read more on our website blog:

Calling all artists, makers and curators... time to apply to FAB!

Royal Crescent Hotel hosting exhibition of paintings by Ukrainian artist 01/05/2022

Thanks for the coverage of Alina’s exhibition Bath Echo. Come down and have a look, it’s up until 30 June (dates have been extended).

Royal Crescent Hotel hosting exhibition of paintings by Ukrainian artist The exhibition is in support of displaced Ukrainian artist Alina, who was forced to flee her hometown.

12/04/2022

Our artist Alina Maksimenko had to flee her home just outside Kyiv amidst mortar explosions and machine gun fire, leaving everything she owns behind. She only had time to grab a bag of clothes, scoop up her cat and stuff her passport into her pocket before jumping in her car and driving for seven days to reach safety in Vienna.

She has written a very personal account of her flight for people to read. Please click on the link below, which will take you to our blog page on our website, and if you can, please share her story. Thank you.
