Bath is famous for its beautiful Georgian buildings, which have a focus on balance and proportion, harmony and symmetry. It is a real testament to Georgian building skills that of the 7,000 houses built in Bath between 1714 and 1830, over 5,000 remain today and after 200 years they are still in incredible condition.

High ceilings, large rooms, symmetry and proportion are the characteristics of these Georgian houses. Read my latest blog post to find out the tricks to transform these beautiful spaces into stylish modern family homes.

I visited Lorfords Antiques in Tetbury a few weeks ago. The shop is home to an inspirational collection of decorative and traditional antiques and accessories. There are also two huge aircraft hangers outside the town showcasing the stock of over 60 antiques and accessories dealers from the UK and Europe. With over 60,000 square feet of unique items it really is an incredible Aladdin’s Cave where you never quite know what you will find. Read more about my visit on the blog.

Habitat was founded by Terence Conran in 1964 and is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. To celebrate this milestone birthday, they have launched their 60 Years of Design collection of furniture, tableware, textiles and accessories.
The collection heralds the return of much-loved designs, from the 1960's to the early 2000's, reimagined for modern life by Habitat's in-house design studio and industry-leading designers such as Sebastian Conran and Tord Boonje. Highlights include (of course!) the iconic chicken brick from 1964, Larsa bistro chairs and the collectable ribbon lamp. Find out my top ten buys on the blog.

Pooky are all about decorative lights and a love of colour and shape.

They make beautiful, well-made, slightly eclectic lamps, pendants and shades at a price that is a lot more reasonable than you might expect.

Lampshades can create eye-catching punctuations and dramatic ceiling lights can make an otherwise simple room look striking.

The interiors world can’t get enough of spicy paprika shades at the moment. This rich reddish-orange hue is surprisingly versatile and works well in any room in your home, from a soft rusty velvet throw in the bedroom, to statement wallpaper in a living room.

Paprika works well with other earthy tones like dusty pink and mustard yellow, but it also works wonderfully with contrasting shades like teal blue or sage green.

Read my blog for ten ways to introduce paprika into your home.
