Meadowvale Care Home

Kellie our hairdresser here at Meadowvale has been helping our residents feel more confident by providing them with a variety of haircuts and perms to suit every individuals style resulting in big smiles across all residents faces.

Today we got our vocals going during our Sunday hymns this morning and enjoying the great outdoors during our local walks. Our residents also had fun working on a variety of quizzes whilst others took part in reminiscing old famous faces and having a bleather during our 1:1s, a lovely way to end the week.

What a lovely few days we’ve had at Meadowvale doing a variety of different activities to suit all our residents needs. Our residents have enjoyed going walks to the park and keep fresh with some nail care whilst others have enjoyed taking part in quizzes, target games and matching games. Some of our residents also enjoyed taking part in our kareoke where we sung our hearts out to classics like ‘Country Roads’,’Wild Rover’ and many other great songs.

What another marvellous day we had in the sun with the lovely school kids today where we played a variety of different games whilst many other residents soaked in the sunshine and took part in a group quiz! ☀️

On the road again! We had a fabulous time on the weekend going to the tea dance where we won prizes, reunited old friendships, learned new dance moves and made plenty of memories, we can’t wait to return and do it all over again! Today we had many of the residents soaking in the sunshine, enjoying their personalised cones and reminiscing whilst others enjoyed going local walks, completing jigsaws and getting competitive during dominos, a fun time had by all.

We would like to invite all family and friends of our residents and their surrounding community to come join us in our fundraising event on 19th October 7pm-1am

We are putting the fun in fundraiser by having a pyjama party with karaoke and a rewind disco with music all the way up from the 50’s.
We are giving all proceeds to help critically ill children and their families through make a wish foundation and hope you can attend. Tickets are £7 and can be obtained from the office. We hope to see you there. Please spread the word, thank you!

We have had a good few days at meadowvale

We have had a variety of activities to suit everyone . We have had some energetic chair exercises , relaxing afternoons enjoy the sunshine in the garden , some residents joining in with the knitting club , art club and men’s club .

We have also had a lovely visit from some school kids playing board games and having great fun . Looking forward to our next visit kids !. Also we had a visit from the sky team lending helping hands with the garden and spending time with staff and residents . A great big thanks and very much appreciated from all at meadowvale .

We have had a lovely weekend at meadowvale

We had a live singer on Saturday afternoon . We were singing along and dancing to a nice mix of music , residents and staff had a great afternoon .

Today we started our morning off with some chair exercises and had a great afternoon with a mixture of music from the everly brothers and dean martin . Some of the residents played some music instruments and had great fun . We also enjoyed some light refreshments from a generous donation from the smile team . A great big Thankyou it was very much appreciated 😊

We have kicked off our mornings with some chair yoga and chair cycling

Our afternoon activities have been a bit more relaxing . Some of the residents made some lovely decorated fairy cakes whilst other played board games , quizzes ,reminiscing and some of the gents had a draughts tournament which was very competitive . A busy and pleasurable time at meadowvale 😊

We had a very busy day at meadowvale

We started our day with some gentle chair exercises followed by some relaxation music . We finished or morning off with a wee sing a long and some dancing 💃🏿 🕺🏿

In the afternoon we had a lovely visit from some primary school kids , the residents and staff joined in and played some board games with the kids . We all had a fun time and look forward to our next visit from them . We finished off our afternoon with our knitting and natter club where we were all busy wee bees don’t know if that was the knitting or the natter 😊

Today we celebrated our employee of the month Christina Foster! Her dedication and passion for the home and the residents is always outstanding and she always thrives to make the home a fun place to be! You can usually find her starting up the karaoke and keeping the residents entertained or taking on projects in the home such as our amazing gala day display each year. Well done Christina 💜

We celebrated international dogs at meadowvale by having or very own crufts competition

We had some furry friends old and new joining in with all the fun . Misty the Pomeranian won first prize , well done misty 🐶

We also had a surprise visit from one of our carers wee baby . The residents were thrilled there was happy faces all round 😊

One of our residents today got her wish come true from the wish tree , she had very enjoyable day shopping at Livingston .

We also had selected our employee of the month . Brooke was very pleased to be given her well deserved gift vouchers for her commitment and dedication this month . A big well done from all at meadowvale 🥰

Some of our residents, staff and family’s enjoyed a tea dance today , there was a lot of fond memories and happy faces 😊

What a great relaxing weekend at meadowvale we started off will a movie afternoon on Saturday with popcorn and other treats and had a sunny Sunday relaxing in the garden 😎

What a great afternoon we had , we were well entertained by the fabulous Billy Meredith . We were dancing , swaying and singing along to well known tunes that we all love . It was a fab day had by all 🕺🏿💃🏿😊

We had our very own Olympic Games today , it was great fun and everyone was a winner 🥇

This year our company is kindly donating to make a wish for critically ill children and their loved ones so they can experience the life changing impact of a wish

We had an active weekend at Meadowvale with activities including cake decorating, local walks, and a singalong to some fiddle music.

Residents enjoyed a Burns Gym session this morning, with lots of different moves relating to some of the Olympic sports we've been enjoying watching on TV. We also enjoyed some Olympics-themed word games as well as quizzes, arts and crafts, and one-to-one sessions.
