We at the Torphichen Inn take our responsibilities for your safety very seriously. Please ensure you keep your table sizes to maximum of 6 and 3 households only
Wear your mask if not exempt when entering, leaving and moving around
Please use sanitisers on entry and wash hands regularly
Don't forget it is table service and some people are still not comfortable with you approaching their table so respect others distancing.
Unfortunately I have made the decision to close the wee tearoom with immediate effect.
It’s clear that there's no demand for itin Torphichen. May i apologise to those who have made use of the facility, but sadly its just not viable. The Inn will go from strength to strength and we will look at other ways to facilitate the village and create employment within it.
Kenny
Your local Inn is open tomorrow night from 6pm!!
The Torphichen tea room will also open for business on Wednesday 13th March.
Opening hours will be Mon-Fri 10-12, so pop along for a cuppa.
I'd like to take the opportunity to wish all our patrons a very happy new year. And take the opportunity to lay out our plans for the coming year.
The Inn will be open tomorrow 5th January, special price on draught products.
However with the cost of energy soaring, and with much publicised dry January, i have decided to close the Inn until the 8th March. This will give us the opportunity to do some maintenance and painting ready for the new season. The Inn will however be available for hire to villagers for special events throughout the winter.
Finally it is my intention to open a tea/coffee shop facility Mon til Friday on a trial basis from Monday 4th March. Hours of opening to follow.
Thanks for your continued support and we look forward to another successful season.
The Inn will be celebrating HOGMANAY by putting on a special show by ticket only!!
Opening at 8pm ,with a complimentary drink on arrival, and a steak pie dinner as soon as your seated.
With live music, Scottish themed disco, piper, and with a special minutes silence prior to the bells as we remember our absent friends... tickets on sale at the Inn this Friday evening.
£25 all included.
We would like to wish all villagers patrons or not a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
The Inn will be open Christmas eve to give villagers the opportunity to gather, between the hours of 5pm to 9.30pm. This will allow everyone, including the staff to get home and be with their families at this special time of year. MERRY CHRISTMAS.
Kenny and staff
Just to let villagers know the Inn will be open between 11am and 4 pm on the gala day. We hope the children of the village have a fantastic day!!
HIP HIP!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Torphichen Inn update...
I'm sure most of the villagers will be aware, our international coach tour side of the business is going from strength to strength. This offers the Inn sustainability, and allows us to showcase the village and tell the story of its rich history.
We would like to extend this provision to residents of the village, to allow you to enjoy an evening with us, and give you the opportunity to see why we have become such a popular location by these tour companies.
Anyone wishing to join us for these evenings, either individually or as a group of friends and family, are welcome to book at the Inn, where our diary is available for bookings. A special price is available to villagers and includes 3 course dinner, full entertainment and the provision of 2 complimentary drinks.
We ask you not to sit on the outside looking in,no need to speculate come on in and witness it for yourself and help us showcase your village, by offering and being part of our wonderful torphichen hospitality.

If viable, then it would coincide with the pub opening in the last week in November - probably the Sunday afternoon. A drink and a shop, what’s not to like 😊
Torphichen Inn - Winter hours update :
Following a successful Tour season 2022 & the Government's recent increase in Energy costs which everyone is experiencing, I have decided to revert to 'Winter opening hours' from this week.
This is somewhat earlier than in previous years but allows time for Maintainance at the Inn to take place & to prepare for the Season ahead.
'Winter opening' will be as follows:
• The Inn will open last Friday & Saturday of each month until 31st March 2023.
First 'Winter' opening weekend will be 28th & 29th October 6pm 'til midnight.
Live music and bar snacks will be available.
• The Inn remains available for private hire bookings.
Please contact Torphichen Inn FB page for details.
Thanks for your continued support.
TORPHICHEN INN UPDATE.
Firstly, can I thank all the villagers who have supported the Inn recently, although saddened at the closure of the shop it should be a wake up call for us all. The pop in remains a trading entity and I will continue to support Ruth as she provides the village with her excellent service. PLEASE SUPPORT THE POP IN. Sometimes you don't know what you have until you lose it.
With the current economic conditions with inflation and utilities going through the roof, I have to make swift decisions to safeguard the long term future of the village inn. Therefore I have decided to lay down our winter programme beginning November 1st 2022 until March 2023.
The Inn will open only the last Friday and Saturday of each month between the hours of 18.00 and Midnight. This will be supported with live music details of which will follow.
We will continue to hire the Inn for private functions with reduced hire rates for villagers. During these private functions the Inn bar will also be open and we will notify villagers of these extra opening times through our page.
Further I don't make these decisions lightly, but my priority is securing the long term future and prosperity of the Inn, with the employment it will bring to the local community.
Finally, as winter closes in - from the beginning of November we will also bring back hot soup free to village pensioners each Friday which will be available from the pop in during opening hours. Please keep an eye out for our elderly and take a hot soup to them, check they are OK during the winter months. A friendly face will always be appreciated.

We are open!
There will be a bus tour at the Inn tonight, so the bar will be open from 6pm until the tour has ended. Approximately 2.5 hours.
Hope to see you all later 🍻
I have decided to delay Friday opening until next Friday 1st of July. I still have one or two issues to resolve staffing and supplier issues.
Thanks for your patience and look forward to welcoming you all next Friday 1st July
Kenny
Having done a full analysis of the Inn and its ongoing viability, it is clear that with the huge rise in costs - gas, electricity, fuel, perishable food and drink, that we will all have to batten down the hatches for some time.
Although it saddened me that Janet and Robert had to move on, it is clear from the discussions that we had, the village cannot sustain the pub in its current format.
Therefore, I have made the following decision.
We will continue to develop tourism and encourage tour operators to enjoy what we take for granted - a wonderful wee village steeped in history.
As you all know, Ruth has taken over as the Pop In and we will actively support her in every way possible to make her new venture a success.
For a period of time, I will be opening the Inn every Friday night between 5 and midnight. We will not be serving food, however if you wish to bring buffet snacks with you, that’s fine - although strictly no takeaways.
Children are always welcome in the Inn but must vacate by 8.30.
We will also continue to hire out the Inn for all your special occasions with preferential rates for villagers and there will be no hall charge for funerals.
Finally, I will monitor all aspects of the business moving forward to see where we can increase our service to you, and will try to employ within the village where we can.
We are a small community and we have to join together to keep our local small businesses open for all.
I thank you for you patience whilst I looked at the best way forward and I look forward to welcoming you on our regular Friday nights.
Kenny
Just to add that the bar will be open on tour evenings so feel free to come in and buy a pint or two! Ask Ruth at the Pop In for the weeks tour nights. Thanks again.
Morning everyone. I've been asked by many of you whether and when the Inn will be open again. I am currently assessing the viability of opening and opening hours and will let you know what's going to happen in the next week or so.
Thank you all for your continued messages of support for your community pub.
