Can’t even describe how sorry I am for everyone who had to wait for my response or this post.
My Hanna was poorly & then was I 🤒
As you know this is a ‘one woman show’ & if I am out of work everything stops - production, marketing, customer service, admin etc.😥

Something I haven’t really spoken about before here…

I have some really difficult decisions to make…
The prices of my supplies to make bath bombs increased by 50% since Summer & overall it’s 150% (3x) more than what I was paying last Christmas before final Brexit 😢

On the other hand my bath bombs prices are still for £3.5 + postage costs/Etsy fees, because I didn’t want to lose my Clients.
I literally don’t leave any profit for myself recently & it’s getting really difficult to do something you love while bills are chasing you & your family.

In the picture you can see an example with very important Citric Acid that I need in big amounts but there are many more products that have increased between 30-150% but yet I can’t double or triple the prices because people simply won’t be able to afford my products & I can’t blame them. It’s not an essential product.

I have decided to hold off the wholesale orders as it’s not only my unpaid work but it’s they aren’t even paying the bills for my workshop rent, energy or childcare costs.

To be truthful, I’m facing a decision of whether or not carry on with the business now as I was ok with paying myself minimum wage last year but this year it’s waaay below that & costs of living are only rising.

Sorry for being so upfront in this post but I had to get it off my chest.
I love my brand & what it represents for Mom’s Self-Care.
I love my products & can’t really match the quality with substitutes.
Most of all I love my Clients who always cheer me up & support me through Social Media.
Never have I ever had a complaint or a hate troll.
It feels like a love breakup.

Please let me know your thoughts on this in the comments. I really don’t know what to do.

I can’t even tell you how many small businesses around me are closing now. Literally every week there is an update from someone…

This is so upsetting & discouraging. I ask myself ‘the big question’ every month to be honest.

At this point my business is sinking my savings & I’m just trying to power through to autumn 🍂 as it always picks up then & I’m very busy until January.

I know it’s also hard on you as Customers to support local businesses when everyone needs to save money in these times. The problem is that the inflation will change at some point in a year or two but the small businesses won’t reopen so easily. People will have to move on.

Would you want me to talk more in depth about how my costs have changed in 2022 & what I’m facing right now as self-employed Mom with a baby under 2?

5) Stuff can be also left at the Polish School in Armley if someone lives/works close by

What’s needed the most:

1. Batteries, flashlights, candles, lighters,
2. Medically: face masks, bandages, plasters, disinfectant sprays, Celox Granules, Wund Dressings, blood stop gauze, ointments for burns
3. Clothes: raincoats, baby clothes,
4. Kids/Babies: clothes, wet wipes, nappies, formulas, bottles, fruit pouches etc., travel cots,
5. Cosmetics: toothpastes, toothbrushes, ladies personal hygiene products, baby washing powders, ointments for burns
6. Food: anything instant, pot noodles, cereal, rice, pasta, protein bars, various grains, tinned meat & fish, dried fruits (I will pack some chocolate for the kids too)

What have I been up to?
Sometimes to take a step forward you have to take 2 steps back 💁🏼‍♀️
I’ve been feeling a bit ‘stretched’ in all directions.
As you know, it’s a one woman show & being responsible for accounting, marketing, production, sales, packaging, postage is just unmanageable sometimes.

I took a social media ‘detox’ & focused on training new team members & setting up everything in place at our new premises.
Had to make sacrifices & skip a Valentine’s Day offer…
BUT! I’ve managed to prepare new products for a Mother’s Day collection (keep an eye for them in mid March 👀) 🌹

Here you can see me getting keys to my new workshop that I rented from the Methodist Church on Nab Lane 🥳

Also! I’ve decided that it’s time for a good old SALE but to keep my Clients happy, only our subscribers & previous Clients can get the password to unlock the website with discounts so we can make sure there will be enough stock for regular customers ❤️
