The wood dabbler
Little bit about me. I work fulltime and love to spend my spare time making things for other people. Self taught.
Been making some stars with varying degrees of success and now I think I've about nailed it.
Coming soon! 5 pointed stars. These measure about 300mm across. I'll try and make some smaller ones but Ive grown quite attached to my fingers.
Thanks twd
Been a bit quiet of late partly due to the hot humid weather. Working in an old shipping container, as you an imagine it gets a bit warm π₯΅. I'm still around and will start to try out some things for, should I say, Christmas π¬.
I'd be soo appreciative if you could tell your friends, colleagues, family about my work, invite them to like my page. Below just a few snippets of what I do. I work full time & I make things with my spare time. I work from Wilden and believe buying locally really helps capture the local spirit.
Garden dining tables, shelves, toy boxes, blanket boxes, garden planters, coffee tables.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Twd π
Got to take some ok-ish shots of the Aurora tonight, though not visible with the naked eye unfortunately. Wish I'd have kept my dslr now. All taken after 23.30 Aug 12th. There were a couple of Perseid meteors but they're so damn quick! Saw loads of satellites.
Couple of commissions knocked out the park this weekend. πͺπ½

I've recently been commissioned to make a toy box for a family who I've previously made a couple of little side tables for. Toy boxes are something to treasure. This is only my second toy box and think they are my favourite builds so far. Over time they hold not only toys but so much sentiment as your little ones grow up and will hopefully passed on to the next generation.
This one made from pine, sealed and waxed in dark oak. Routered with V grooves and all edges rounded over. Soft close hinge fitted.
If you like this or have something in mind please do get in touch. Don't forget to give my FB page a like and share.

Been working on a couple of friends projects and one for myself. Workshop not really catered for cabinet making but gave it a go.
1; Wall panelling. MDF kit & shelf bought from b&q. A website company wanted over Β£180 for the full kit. Glued and tack nailed the MDF, cut around the light switch, made the shelf brackets. Cost of materials from b&q less an Β£100.
2; trophy shelf and medal rack
3; project for myself. Took the breakfast bar out as I never used it. Used the two wall units I had in the corner and made another one to make three base units, just got to make the door. Boxed in the pipework in the corner. Ripped up the laminate floor & replaced a section of the floor boards near the back door. Screwed new ply sheets to the floor. Made three drawer fronts, changed all the handles. Removed the original radiator, hung new black column rad, not plumbed in yet. Painted all the walls and ceiling, oh and filled an 8"hole where the old extractor fan was.
Just on a side note, happy to make things for people but I'm no kitchen cabinet maker/fitter.

Some may know, I was h@cked through my personal FB also affecting my business page last year. I am struggling to remove the hacker who continues to "own" my page. Strangely I can only access my business page through my mobile. Any desktop use I am met with the below, requesting I join a business portfolio, if I don't I will loose access.
If I can't get them removed I will have to create another page, which fills me with dread, loosing all the progress I have made in the last two years, especially with all you lovely followers.
I will keep you posted.
Spent the day celebrating International Women's day with Rubio Monocoat UK & Festool. Great support from all the girls that attended.
Managed to bag myself a spot on a day's course at Rubio Monocoat's UK HQ with winner of S2's Britain's best woodwork Lauren Wood. Something to look forward to. March 8th ππ½
