Guppy Fish Lover
Guppy fish lover.
Guppy fish are an incredibly popular freshwater fish in the aquarium scene. Low-maintenance and beginner friendly, there’s a lot to like about this species!
Guppies are livebearers, which means that their babies are born live, not from eggs like many other types of fish, including goldfish.
Looking to get started in the freshwater aquarium hobby? It's important to remember that starting and maintaining an aquarium can take some work, but some fish are much easier to start out with than others
There are a few gender differences you will need to master in order to keep your male and female populations separate. Males tend to be smaller and more vibrantly colored. Females tend to have a brown coloration and are larger and rounder.
Catching🐠🐠
Many guppy keepers may start out with only one or two fish, but being live-bearers with long-term s***m storage, you may be in for a full tank before long.
Guppies have been a staple of the aquarium hobby for generations. Originating in tropical pools in South America and the Caribbean, these fish are now available in a wide variety of colors that are all captive-bred.
You may have heard it before that guppies are characterized by variety when it comes to patterns, colors and the shape of their tails.
The blue guppy is a beautiful guppy type that is known for its bright blue color. They are brightly colored fish with long, slender bodies. They are often seen swimming around in groups and are very active fish. In addition, they are very peaceful and do not require much care.
Many hobbyists began their fishkeeping with only a small and undemanding guppy tank, but they are hooked for life after seeing those small babies looking back out at them.
Guppies have wonderful colors, cute faces, and best of all, easy to take care of. What more would you want in a fish? If you are hoping to keep your aquarium filled with these little beauties, you will need to learn how to breed your fish and care for their cute fry.
Newborn fry should be fed recently hatched brine shrimp so that the guppies reach their greatest growth potential
When the fry are a good size, or about a month and a half to two months old, they will be ready to fend for themselves outside of the breeding tank. You can put them into your normal tank with non-aggressive fish, sell them to your local pet store, or give them to friends as gifts.
While this may seem like a cruel practice, guppy fry are actually born fully prepared to survive on their own. Also, as stated about, mother guppies can occasionally become cannibalistic and will eat their babies.
: All fish are ectothermic or cold-blooded, meaning they cannot regulate their internal body temperature. Even warm-blooded fish such as tuna and mackerel sharks have only “regional endothermy” or warm-bloodedness limited to certain areas.
