Happy Birthday Sensei! Without Mikao Usui, we would not have Reiki. We thank you for bringing us together. What gift has Reiki brought to your awareness?

I did a lovely Reiki treatment recently for someone and remembered to take a photo of the lovely relaxing space beforehand.

It is always a privilege to share Reiki. Reiki helps to clear any energy blockages in and around the body to help bring about a sense of balance. It can be relaxing too.

You don’t have to buy into it: the idea that your value comes from what you “produce.” So many things demand your attention: your commitment to family, your job, your kids' activities, your community… But what about your commitment to yourself? If you burn out, everything that depends on you is impacted too. So whether you do it for yourself (really important) or for others, be aware of warning signs that your life has gone off track, and take steps to get back in YOUR flow. Who you are is always more important than what you do. Here are 5 reminders:

1. Recognize and accept that you won't be able to do everything all of the time. Where you are on the to-do list does not determine your value.
2. It's more important to manage yourself than it is to manage time. Make time for yourself.
3. Boundaries are your friend. Simply say "No."
4. Challenge yourself to do nothing, to give your brain a break, to daydream.
5. Cultivate your curiosity, joy and purpose. And hold yourself lightly.
The good news is that we have a say in how we spend our life, what activities we participate in, and whom we associate with. Begin taking little steps to reclaim your pacing and priorities - no one knows these better than you.
