Hi everybody, hope you all have had a good week. Just to let you know the butcher will have everything ready for us by Friday. So if it suits I will call round with a BBQ party parcel Friday night. See you then. Katharine

How about a BBQ?
By now we would normally have had our annual trip with the young people and grown-ups. However with the ongoing restrictions this year it will not be possible. However all is not lost! We plan on dropping in a BBQ party pack for each family of the Sunday School. We will be in touch with you during the week. Looking forward to seeing you again.

In the past week I've noticed the increased activity of our garden visitors as they prepare for the arrival of their little chicks. Parent Sparrows and Blue-tits fly about, gathering food for the gaping mouths that seem to be ever open, waiting for the next delivery. Then comes the great moment when the fledglings tentatively leave the safety of the nest. This can be a perilous time as sometimes accidents and unwelcome encounters take place.
When we think of this it reminds us of the verses of Matthew chapter 10. The Lord Jesus was speaking about the value of individuals and the care that our Heavenly Father has for us. We know that every life matters to Him.
Verses 29-31 "Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.
But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows."
We know God loves you because the Lord Jesus died and rose again for all, none excluded.
God bless you all as we pause to thank Him for His matchless love.

Space history was made yesterday when Doug and Bob, two NASA astronauts, were launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida on their journey to the International Space Station in a rocket by a private company.
These launches require both tremendous power and intricate design.
There is however a much greater power that people from all over the world and every walk of life are experiencing. This is the power of God's great salvation which is open for all to know, unlike space excursions which are only available to a few highly trained people.
Today we can experience this power in our own individual lives. Speaking from his own experience, Paul writes in Romans chapter 1 verse 16:
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth".
What a change in Paul's life since that day when he met the Saviour. He could also say "That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection" Philippians chapter 3 verse 10.
The Lord bless you all.

Hello folks. Aren't the rainbows in all the house windows fantastic! How did you make yours?
The very first rainbow to be seen was put in place by God. Each one ever since has been a spectacular display. The reason for the rainbow is to remind us all of the promise of God. God's promises are dependable. Every word in the Bible is dependable. There is a big contrast to the rain-filled cloud that has just passed by and the vibrancy of the rainbow that follows. The colours are so full of life. Next time you see a rainbow in the sky think about the promise of the Lord Jesus when He said "I give unto my sheep eternal life and they shall never perish." This indeed is life full of colour and will bring glory to God.

Acts of kindness.
During this period of crisis I have been so heartened hearing about acts of kindness done by strangers to those in real need.
This reminds us of the well known story of "The Good Samaritan", were a total stranger showers love, kindness and real care on one who has been passed by and left by others. It is even more amazing when we discover that the two in the story come from communities who had become, shall we say, estranged from each other. It never fails to surprise me when I read of the depth of care and the extent to which this Samaritan expressed his love to this individual who had no knowledge of him previously.
Each week in Sunday School we remind our hearts of the wonderful love of God to us. This is uniquely recorded for us in John 3 v 16. We learn that the Lord Jesus came into this world for the purpose of going to the cross to provide salvation for individuals in need, each and every one of us. This is truly amazing news to think about and share with others today.

Hello everyone. Hope you are all well. We have missed seeing and hearing you over the past weeks.

Below are a few thoughts I've had and an activity for the children.

During our usual Sunday School lessons, we sing songs, pray, hear stories and catch up on events over the previous week, but by far the most important part is learning the Word of God.
I was thinking about the verses from John Chapter 1, in the New Testament, that we learned leading up to when we had to close (have a look over these just to refresh your memory.) Over the past few weeks there have been quite a few astronomical events which have been interesting to see. Perhaps your mum or dad saw some of these? There was the super moon, the meteorite shower caused by debris of Haley's Comet and then the satellites of the Starlink program. I saw some of the Starlink satellites last week (which are expected to cost an eye-watering £7.1 billion). These were interesting to see but I would not call them very spectacular. This is what man can do. In contrast, what God did is vastly more amazing when we look at the constellations of our galaxy. In the Bible, this part of creation is recorded in such a beautiful and simple way in what reads like an aside in Genesis chapter 1 v 16 "He made the stars also."
Recently we have had a little more time to look and wonder at the world around us. Think about these things as you remember the verses below.
John chapter 1 verse 1-4

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Keep safe and we look forward to seeing you soon. Will be in touch.

Why not have some fun and show us your talent by painting/colouring a picture of something you have enjoyed this week? Post it back to us on private message. Have fun.
