Had an absolute blast at Largs Viking Festival

We've been kindly invited to Largs Viking Festival
we'll be Joining Wolves of Éire and Fingal Living History Society to name a few of an Irish contingent making a foray into Scotland. It's been a long time since we've made a return to Largs.

Cragganowen was a very successful event that continues to surprise. we all helped continue to set and break records for attendance at the park.

Atleast a dozen of High marks, including teaching my first archery session, seeing a wild deer, rocking out to bohemian rhapsody on our way for supplies, laughing into the wee early hours of the morning (still somehow managed to be standing for the muster..) Every re-enactor all braved weather that would make the cailleach shudder.

At some point a member of the public thanked me on behalf of his family (but meaning to everyone involved )about us being willing to "come and put on such an event in an area of the country that does get forgot about" and ya know that really hit me hard, despite it being an area of wondrous beauty and history and we were honoured to come back. Really reminded me that we have further reaching effects that we ever set out to have at these events

Thank you everyone for a very memorable weekend and I'm sure there will be plenty of pictures pop up during the week.

We'll be heading down to Cragganowen For an event held by Shannon Heritage!

⚒The Viking Age at Craggaunowen - Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th ⚒

The Vikings were known worldwide for their amazing array of armoury and protection. While onsite why not try on a suit of chain-mail for size or feel the weight of a Viking Helmet or Sheild. Learn about the purpose and creation of this sturdy and protective gear and of the varying colours and symbols of the many Viking clans.

our members added a cupla more events for the map, a few weeks ago at Ballina a site with excellent potential for growing in an event suitable for the West and Malahaide down in the big smoke.

Otherwise our trainings are ongoing for combat every Thursday at 7:30pm feel free to join( pm for address )

Massive thank to Ulfednar for Hosting, we got fire works displays , well fed and were well looked after.

It was a very wet weekend to be a re-enactor, but shows dedication for everyone who did brave it to put on a show. well played to all the fighters, who im sure had a fun time cleaning their armour and weapons.
