The NADTA stands in solidarity with the First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples of Canada in the acknowledgment of July 1st, Canada Day, 2021 as a day of mourning and reckoning.

The recent and ongoing discoveries of over 1,000 children’s bodies in unmarked graves at the sites of former Residential Schools in Canada is appalling, and should not go unnoticed by our association. 
These discoveries resurface and reignite trauma, pain and intergenerational wounds for all Indigenous people of Canada, Residential School Survivors, Families, and prompts reflection for all Canadians.
