Cats Protection Belfast Adoption Centre

We're running solely on appointment basis. If you have any questions, please give us a call! An adoption fee of £75 per adult cat and £95 per kitten is charged.

This fee goes towards the care the cat has already received while at the adoption centre. On average the Belfast Adoption Centre spends approximately £150 - £200 on each cat in its care. Cats Protection does not receive funding from any government or lottery bodies and therefore relies on donations from the kind public and adopters to allow us to continue the vital work that we do. We would love to introduce you all to three of our fabulous mummy cats!

Izzy, Siracha and Sabrina 😊

They all have come in here either with their kittens or they had their kittens while in care. All three mummies did such a fabulous job raising their little ones, we believe it now time for these three beautiful mummies to rest and relax. They are all searching for a loving forever home that will let them just be cats with no responsibilities. 💕

❤Izzy is a lovely cat with a gentle personality, she is so calm and well natured that she would make a great addition to any family. She does have a lovely playful side and enjoys either playing with people or by herself. In terms of affection, she does love a good ear scratch and head rub.

💙Sabrina is one of the most placid cats we have at the centre and not much really bothers her. She is very gentle and loving, with an amazing personality. She too would make a great addition to any family. She does have a playful side but will only really play when she is in the mood. In terms of affection, she is great at giving snuggles and loves a good head scratch. Sabrina can be independent as well and would entertain herself if she needs too.

🧡Siracha is a lovely cat who is very affectionate and playful, she does love a good ear scratch. She does quickly let you know however, when she has had enough of attention and would prefer to be left too snooze. She would make a good pet for a home with older cat savvy children or a home with just adults.

All three of our lovely mummies would require outdoor access as this is what they were used to in the past. Izzy and Sabrina would be ideal for a family home whilst Siracha would need a home with older children or adult only.

If you feel like any of these amazing mummies would be suitable for your home, please visit the website below to apply for Izzy, Siracha or Sabrina 😊

✨Extra special reunion story!✨

‘Omar’ was relinquished into our care last month after he was found as a blind stray. When scanned his microchip was sadly not registered on any UK database. After some digging from dedicated staff on an American database, contacting the database, a previous owner in New York, and two American animal welfare charities, we finally got a name we could try to track down here in NI, and we are delighted to say Ziggy, previously known as Blue Eyes, Brolin and Omar has been reunited with his loving, relieved owners! 😍

After being rescued as a stray on the streets of New York, Ziggy was adopted and then moved with his owners to Northern Ireland in 2013. We can only imagine the stories he could tell!

Special thanks to Ziggy’s previous owner in New York, Home Again US, the amazing staff Mid Hudson Animal Aid and our own in-house detectives, Sarah, Kurtis and Beth! What a team effort!

This story is a great reminder to always make sure your pet’s microchip details are up to date! 🙂

This lovely lady is Izzy, she is 1 year and 8 months old and is more than ready to find her forever home💕

Izzy was brought into our care with three little kittens. All of her kittens have since been rehomed and Izzy is now patiently waiting for her forever home. She is a very gentle girl and can be so sweet when you’re in her pen🥰

We think she would suit most homes as she is a lovely cat that wants to play but also likes to relax on her own. She is a laid back cat that is enjoying her kitten free life, we think she would be a great addition to someone's family. Izzy will need safe outdoor access 💜

This little lady is Tabitha. She is just under two years of age💜

We are looking for a quite home for Tabitha as she is a timid cat that gets spooked by loud noises. Slow and steady works for her and she is a such a sweet girl that will fall over as soon as you scratch her chin. She loves a cosy bed and will spend her days relaxing in her box or sometimes if she is feeling adventurous, she will lie on a cushion in her pen🥰

When we come into her Pen in the morning her toys and her cardboard scratcher will be in different places than the previous day , so we know she likes to explore and play when the centre is quite. We think Tabitha would make the perfect companion for someone if they give her time and space to come round once in a home💕

💕🐾Homed and Happy 🐾💕

We are delighted to be able to share a lovely update on two of our former residents Posh Spice and Baby spice. Who are now called Spice and Baby and were adopted last October 😊

The two beautiful little kittens came into the centre after being found straying and alone, they quickly settled into the centre and it was clear from the start that would need to go home together due to how bonded they are. They were lovely little kittens and were very affectionate and playful. ❤

We are happy to report that they both have remained together and their bond is as strong as ever. Their new owners have said

“we absolutely love them and they are still very connected to each other, as the photos show.”

We are absolutely delighted with this update and it so lovely to see two of our lovely little kittens doing so well in their new home.

Big thank you to Posh Spice and Baby Spice new family for sending in this lovely update and we wish you many more years of happiness 😊

❤🐾Homed and Happy🐾❤

We are delighted to share some lovely news in relation to our fabulous girl Kitz! She went home earlier this year and seems to have settled in amazingly. ❤

Kitz came into the centre after being found straying with her little kittens! She settled in really well at the centre and stole the hearts of many staff. She was a very sweet little cat who had a lot of love to give. She would always be happy to see someone coming over to her pen for snuggles and would be down the stairs ever morning waiting for us to come feed her. She did love to play at times and would chase a fishing rod toy around her pen. When she wasn’t being petted or played with she would be snoozing in her bed 😊

She seems to have settled in amazingly in her new home and her new family are delighted with her progress her! They have said

“She has moved in with a vengeance! Friends who have had rescue cats couldn't believe that on the first night she was sitting on a chair looking as if she'd be here for months.”

This is brilliant to hear and everyone at the centre is delighted to see her doing so well! Big thank you to Kitz new owner for sending us in this lovely update and we wish you many more year of happiness 😊

💜Adoption day💜

We are pleased to share that our long stay resident Binx has finally went to his forever home🥰🥰

Binx came into our care in January this year and spent far too long here at the centre. We knew Binx would require a specific home and need someone that would fall in love with his crazy personality. He is now away to a wonderful home with other cats that have a similar personality and we believe that its just the perfect match 💕

We cannot wait to see him settled in his own home with lots of space and friends to help burn off some of his energy🐾

🏡Homed and happy🏡

We would like to share this lovely update on Snowdrop, she came into our care through no fault of her own and went home earlier this month💜

Her adopter has shared this with us ;

"She has settled in well, so well that she came out of the first room we put her in within the day and has fully made herself at home throughout the house. She loves to chase after the toy mouse and loves her meal times. We've managed to groom her successfully which we didn't think would be the case! She loves to sleep on the bed with me after my night shifts and also loves a 3am zoomie around the house! We're getting a cat flap put into the garage and will introduce her to that space within the next week so she has her own space as well as the house. Can't wait to let her out she's been dying to get into the garden"

Thanks so much to the adopter for this lovely update and we wish you all the best for the future 🐾

This little angel is Nunes and she is the last of her litter mates to find her forever home😻

Nunes was born in our care after her mum was found as a stray. She is a beautiful, sweet natured girl that loves nothing more than to snooze and play all day. We are shocked she is the last to go as she is stunning and her mix of tabby and tortie is just out of this world🥰

She would suit most homes and suitable for an indoor only home or with outdoor access💜

We have a lovely update from Seamus ( formally known as brock)🧡

Seamus came into our care and spent most of his days in our isolation unit with cat flu , after lots of TLC from staff members and some antibiotics Seamus was finally ready to find his forever home💜

His new family have shared with us that they love him so much! And he’s bonding really well with his brother Murphy🥰

We love to see our cats settled in their forever homes. Thanks for the update and we wish you all the best for the future 💕

We would love to introduce you all to a special girl here at the centre……. Poppy or Princess Poppy as she is sometimes known as! ❤

Poppy is only 1 years old and is on the hunt to find her forever home 😊, she is still very much like a kitten only slightly older. She loves to play and will chase a feather toy around her pen for ages. Poppy can be very sweet and affectionate, but this has to be on her terms she is after all a princess.

She is a very confident little lady who has settled into the centre brilliantly, she loves to people watch and will watch us as we work away. She is always up and about saying hello to people if they are near her pen and the moment you lock eyes with her, she will be straight over, meowing and trying to get you to come say hello……. Sometimes it is hard to resist her. 🐾

Poppy can be independent at times and will want to do her own thing which is no bad thing. She loves having her naps and unless we are in playing with her or petting her she will be snoozing away. When she does get her lovely bursts of energy she will run round her pen, jumping and playing as she goes. A lot of the times we must go in a fix her scratcher as she knocked it down …. again…..

She will need outdoor access as she is used to this in the past and he would need to be an only pet as she isn’t a huge fan of other cats.

Poppy is a delightful, friendly, energetic cat who deserves a loving and friendly home. Could you be the one to offer her a home? Apply today via the link below to come meet this fantastic cat;

🏡Homed and happy🏡

This is Sasha and she went home back in September 2023💕

Her adopter has shared this lovely message and photos, She had this to share with us;

“Sasha has settled in brilliantly from day one and made herself right at home! She likes her own space but is also your shadow as she doesn’t like to miss what’s going on in the house. She’s such a clever wee cat and recently we’ve learnt how to play fetch with her favourite toy – the spring! Constantly has me giggling with her mischievous antics and we couldn’t be without her now”

She looks as beautiful as ever and has some new friends to live happily ever after with. We couldn’t be happier and we wish you all the best for the future💜

Over the last week you will have seen our lovely girl Jess being featured as our Cat of the Week! Jess is 5 years old and is such a lovely and beautiful girl 😊

Jess came into the centre through no fault of her own and took a while to settle in. Jess loves being around people and will even sometimes be what we call a social eater, this means she prefer to have company when eating her breakfast and dinner. She is a very gentle cat and is very loving, she does have a playful side which you have hopefully seen in our videos throughout the week. Even during play Jess can be gentle and it really hard for us to not spend all day with her. When we are not with Jess, she loves nothing more than having a good afternoon snooze in her comfortable beds💕

Jess does FIV which means she will need to be an indoor cat for the rest of her life, she really wont mind as she loves to nap and be around people. Jess is not able to be rehomed with our cats due to being FIV and not being their biggest fan 😊, she does have experience with kids but due to her shyness she would be ideal with cat savvy kids or older kids.

If Jess sounds like your type of cat please apply today and come meet this lovely, beautiful girl. Please visit the link below to apply.

💕🐾Homed and Happy🐾💕

You may remember our lovely duo Bonnie and Plato, we are very happy to report they have been adopted and are doing amazingly in their new home.

Bonnie and Plato came into the centre through no fault of their own and settled in very quickly. They became one of the staff favourites due to their amazing personalities, they were affectionate and playful and we really didn’t expect them to be at the centre that long. They had been with us for around 5 months and after the journey they have been through we are so glad they are in a loving home. ❤

Bonnie and Plato have settled in to their new home and are acting like they have always been there. Their new owner said

“They’re both settling in really well and becoming part of the family. Bonnie loves jumping up and snuggling into my lap and Plato loves brushing up against our legs and head scratches.”

This is amazing to hear! Big thank you Bonnie and Plato new family for sending in this lovely update and we wish you many more years of happiness 😊

🏡Homing Appeal 🏡

We would like to share the spotlight on some of our longest guests here at the centre. All these cats have been in our care since March this year and are all busting to find their forever homes😭

Puss is an easy-going girl and loves nothing more than to snooze in her bed, we think Puss would thrive in a home as she is a little fed up being stuck in a pen. Puss is the type of cat to claim a spot on the sofa as her own and stay there happily until dinner time! Puss will need to be the only cat in the home and no young kids, She is a timid girl that just needs lots of love and cuddles. She is the perfect cat that will do her own thing but then also snuggle up beside you. Puss will need safe outdoor access💕

Veronica, This lovely girl is obsessed with people and nothing will do until you sit down and she climbs on your knee, She is super loving and will really make someone so happy. She loves to make biscuits on your chest then jump down for a little nibble then back on your knee. Veronica needs to be the only pet in the home as she wants all the attention for her self! She is the sweetest girl that just wants to be around you all day and who wouldn’t want that ? Veronica will need safe outdoor access💜

Mellissa and Marina. This duo is just amazing they are both super bonded and will play with each other all day. They are both super affectionate, they love to be brushed and petted! They would be perfect for a family with kids as they have a very good temperament. They are indoor only and would suit most homes🥰

Last but not least Quinn, This big handsome boy is super affectionate and loves a good snooze. Quinn loves to stand up and give you kisses on the cheek, he also loves to chase around little springs and through them in the air. He is a big gentle giant but will tell you off if you go to quick or rough with him. He is so loving towards the staff and volunteers here in the centre. He will need to be the only pet in the home and to be homed with aged kids 15+ . Quinn needs safe outdoor access😻

All of these cats have had little to no interest and have been here for to long now, we just know if people come to see them they will just fall in love with them!

We would love to introduce you to a very special cat who has captured the hearts of many here at the centre….. Rocky!! ❤

Rocky is at a lovely age of 8 years old and is such an affectionate, gentle little cat who has been through so much. He came into the centre through no fault of his and was loved dearly by his previous owner ☹. He is such a loveable cat who would make someone very happy, he loves to be dotted on and adored. 💕

Rocky recently went through surgery on his ears which can be seen in his photos, but he is making a great recovery and is more than ready to find his forever home. Rocky adores everyone and would make such a great family cat with his docile and calm nature 😊 We havnt been able to play much with Rocky due to him recovering from his surgery but once he is settled in his new home, he may want to play and may become a more playful boy. Currently Rockys favourite thing is a nice comfortable bed for him to rest his head and we would normally find him snoozing away during the afternoon. ❤

Rocky would need outdoor access as he was used to this in the past, he has only ever lived with adult but due his calm nature we would feel he could live with children as he is a very docile boy. If you feel that Rocky is the cat for you please apply today and come meet this fabulous boy 😊 Apply via the link below

💕🐾Homed and Happy 🐾💕

We just thought we would share a lovely update on our little boy Gem who is now known as Roo. Gem went home earlier this year and we are delighted to report he is doing very well. ❤

Gem came into the centre through no fault of his own and came in with his mother and siblings. They had been well socialised and settled in quiet quickly, even their mother seemed very comfortable after a short time. They were confident kittens full of beans, they would chase each other around their pen causing chaos as they go😂. It wasn’t long before Gem new owner came to see him and quickly feel in love.
Gem has settled in really well with his new family and even has a big dog brother who are seeming to get on quiet well 😊. His new owners have said;

“He has already taken his place as boss of the house and our wee dog Cooper regularly has to give up his beds for him 😹.He is such a lovely wee confident man and is a real credit to the work you put in with him and his brothers before he came to take over our house”

It is lovely to hear our past residents are doing so well in their new home and feeling confident enough to take over the house. It is also great to hear that Cooper and Roo are doing well together and the introductions have went well.❤

Big thank you to Gems new family for sending in this lovely update and we wish you many more years of happiness together.

We are delighted to introduce this fabulous boy, Hamish! This big ginger boy is only 4 years old and is on the hunt to find his forever home. 💕

Hamish came into the centre through no fault of his own and has settled into the centre very quickly. He is a very affectionate boy who loves people and adores being pampered. He can be a little shy around new people and sudden movements do startle him but once he gets know you and learns your mannerisms, he is the best boy. When he sees someone coming near his door, he is very quick to come down and say hello! He adores having a lovely afternoon snooze in his lovely comfortable bed. He can be playful at time but only when he is in mood for play, he is a lovely big boy with lots of love to give 😊

Hamish will require outdoor access as he was used to this in the past and could be rehomed with another cat dependent on proper introductions being made. 🐾

We are delighted to be able to share an update on one of our lovely boys, Pika! Who went home earlier this year 😊

Pika came into the centre through no fault of his own and took a little while to settle in ☹. However, once he settled in and begun to trust us he started to show off his amazing personality that we all couldn’t help but fall for. He was a super cat who loved affection and enjoyed a good afternoon nap on someone’s knee! He was also super playful and loved to chase a fishing rod toy around. We were absolutely delighted when his new family decided to adopt him!

His new family are in love with Pika just as much as we were if not more 😊 and it is so good to see Pika in his new home, living his best life. His new owners have said
“He is settling really well, we’ve had some battles of wills but he’s a great boy who loves snuggles and the bird channel on YouTube!”

This is lovely to hear and we are so happy Pika is settling in so well. Big thank you to Pika new family for sending in this lovely update and we wish you many more years of happiness 😊

We are very excited to share a lovely update on our lovely little girl Sunshine who is now called T***s! She went home earlier this year and has settled in really well 😊

Sunshine was found in a car engine by one of our lovely staff members Alana 😊. She took a little while to come round to us but once she did, she was a lovely little kitten who captured the hearts of many here at the centre. She was a delight to have in the centre and was always up for cuddles and love. She had a lovely playful side too and it was great to see her so happy!

Her new owners love her very much and have said “Sunshine (now called T***s) has settled in very well and is now roaming around the house” This is lovely to hear and we are all delighted to see Sunshine doing so well 😊

Big Thank you to Sunshine’s new family for sending us in this lovely update and we wish you many more years of happiness.

Meet Mimi and Miss Kitty! These two fabulous little cats are a bonded Mother and
Daughter duo who adore each other very much 😊 Mimi is 3 years old while Miss Kitty is only 1 years old!

They arrived at our centre through no fault of their own and when they first came in they were very shy and nervous around us. This is to be expected when they are brought into a new unknown environment. They were moved into our overflow department to let them settle in better as it is a lot quieter in that section. Soon after that to most of our surprise Miss Kitty started to come out of her shell and want affection. This was brilliant for the staff to see, and she truly showed how lovable and affectionate she was.

However, Mimi took a lot longer than Miss Kitty to come out of her shell but thanks to the dedication of our staff and the amazing on-site behaviour team we are happy to report she is doing a lot better and isn’t as fearful as she was, we are even able to pet her little head. She is an affectionate little cat who just need the right home to help her finish building her confidence.

They are both very special little cats who have stolen the heart of many here at the centre and we are eager to find them a forever home were they continue building their confidence and growing into the best little cats we know they are! 💕

Due to their spooked nature these two lovely cats could be indoor only, they have lived with dog before and we the proper introduction this could happen again dependent on the personality of the dog. We recommend a home with older children or adult only as Mimi will need some time to build her confidence. ❤

Could you be the home that can help this lovely pair feel safe and secure? Could you teach them its okay to be themselves? Could you help them build that confidence and start feeling safe enough to play and run! If you feel you could offer these special girls a loving home, please apply today? They cant wait to meet you ☺️
