This thursday, we had our outreach and evangelism night.
Our panel of Cian Pigott, Peter McRoberts and Aaron Scott spoke on the importance of evangelism. Questions such as 'why are you a Christian?', 'How do you share the gospel?' and 'what is your experience surrounding evangelism?' were all discussed.
Afterwards, we teamed up with 'talk shop', to apply what we had learned. We took to the streets of the cathedral quarter to share the good news of the cross and hand out water bottles to those leaving nightclubs.
Overall, it was a very encouraging night that reminded us of the purpose of Christian union- to spread the good news of Jesus Christ.
This week Aaron Dunlop came to share with us on his 'Real story'.
Aaron is a pastor from Dunamanagh, Northern Ireland. His road to missionary work was not a straightforward one. Aaron felt called to help the pastors in rural Kenya who had no resources. "Feast but send a portion for those that nothing has been prepared". Despite some obstacles, he was able to make his way to Kenya with his family in 2017, trusting that the Lord would look after them.
In February 2020, he returned home to NI. This was the start of COVID and they had nothing but what God provided. They trusted, again, that the Lord in His power would look after them.
He is now the director of The Krapf Project in East Africa. Preparing and editing resources for the pastors of rural Africa, that meet their level of need. He also edits 'The Pastor's Study', a quarterly magazine.
2 Timothy 1:12
[12] That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet this is no cause for shame, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him until that day.
1. Saving faith is not blind faith. It's eye opening.
2. Be convinced in your own mind. Get to the point in your life when you can say "I am convinced" just as Paul was.
3. Trust the Lord in the difficult times. To trust in Christ is to see Him for who He is.
'Munch Bunch' is here.
If you live at home and are staying in university between the end of class and the beginning of Christian union on a Thursday, this is a club for you. *
We will be meeting at 5:30pm in the BC foyer cafe. This is an opportunity to get food together or even just pass the time and chill.
*Not exclusive to those living at home, everyone is welcome!!!
This thursday we will have Aaron Dunlop coming to share his 'Real Story' in lecture theatre 1 at 7.30pm. This will be a more casual CU night so take the opportunity to invite a friend and join the craic.
See you all there x

All welcome.
A busy week ahead, stay tuned for more details!
This week David Cameron came to share with us on the topic of 'The Real Me'.
John ch3 v18-20 & v30
[18]Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. [19]This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but people loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. [20]Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. [30]He must become greater; I must become less.”
We work out who we are based on who Jesus is (see last week's CU in focus).
What does God think about you?
God is perfect. He can't lie. What He says about us is completely true. He sees us in our good and bad.
So what does the bible say about us?
1. I am loved by God (v16-17).
God doesn't just say He loves the world, He proved it. He sent His son Jesus to die for us.
2. Am I condemned? (v18-20&30).
We are separated from God. We are sinners and condemned by Him since birth (Psalm51). We are not sinners because of what we do but, We sin because we are sinners.
3. Am I saved? (v18&36)
Whoever believes in the son will have eternal life and not be condemned. What Wonderful news! If we believe Jesus died for us, we are saved. Jesus Christ, God's son, came to save us from our sin and condemnation.
Is your trust in Jesus?
Maybe you know in your head that these things are true by don't believe it in your heart. You know you need saved but do nothing about it. I urge you to trust in Jesus the saviour. For He is the way, the truth and the life and He will never let you down.
Who are you? What does God think about you?
Our first sports night is tomorrow at 9pm @ the Jordanstown sports centre.
