David Moss and Tom Taylor also found a smaller hoard of 32 silver coins during their dig at Caerhun in Conwy county

David says he was about to "call it a day" due to heavy rain when his detector picked up a signal

"We had only just started metal-detecting when we made these totally unexpected finds," says David

The coins, which date from between 32 BCE and AD 235, have been declared treasure and could be acquired by Llandudno Museum
