The CYM attended todays Climate protest in Belfast. AGITATE, EDUCATE, ORGANISE! 🌍🚩

The CYM joined todays protest to oppose the £20 cut to Universal credit. This cut will push thousands of people into poverty and do even more damage to those who already struggle with it in place. There are approximately 134,000 people in the North who rely on Universal Credit. This is yet another violent attack on our class by the barbaric Tory party.

The CYM attended the mass demonstration through Belfast this afternoon in support of Palestine. Israel’s occupation is an illegal one and must opposed in every way possible. Support the people of Palestine, oppose fascist Israel.

#OTD 1981 the funeral of Bobby sands was held. Sands has always been seen as a mythological like figure, but in reality he was simply a working class man who was committed to the betterment of his class and people. Bobby Sands and his 9 comrades who died on hunger strike in 1981 continue to inspire the new generation of young Republicans.

Many victories such as the 8 hour working day, Sick pay, Weekends and holidays can be taken for granted. These were won through the power of a united and militant labour force. Workers of the World Unite!

The centenary of the Northern state is nothing to celebrate. A close look at the history of the north and the current situation we find ourselves in shows the brutal reality of partition and British imperialism.
