The Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) has launched an urgent Pakistan Floods appeal.

The UN estimates about 33 million people have been affected, with one million homes destroyed.

The UK Government will match pound-for-pound up to £5 million donated by the public to this appeal.

coffee + a croissant slab • undoubtedly the best coffee in Henley perfectly paired with freshly baked croissant dough using plums and berries from the market yesterday • it sold out today and every day we bake it which speaks volumes … so ummm yes, we will be making one fresh again tomorrow am • Oh yea + there isn’t a shred of single use plastic in sight … one thing that many shops in this town unfortunately find very difficult… not too sure why but we have our guesses.

Support sustainably • Drifters has been eco friendly from day dot but boy have we evolved and I think it’s fair to say you have too! • say THANK YOU to each and everyone of you who has supported and continues to support our decision to ditch the takeaway cup and embrace walking down the street with your drink in anything reusable. CAN YOU BELIEVE it’s been over a year since we first mulled over the decision?! • We won’t lie probably more than once or twice during extremely quiet times we have wondered why we’re even doing it. It can be slightly soul destroying to see people sitting inside places with plastic cups … it makes you wonder if people even care at all about our planet and the impact that large chains have on it. HOWEVER someone will then walk through the door, order and receive it in a glass jar or a tin can, crack a wicked smile and say something along the lines of “what?! I’ve never seen this before .. how cool is that”. Most even bring them back to be reused again ♻️ • then it hits us and we are instantly reminded that this is why • if we can impact your day with a drink in a tin can then hopefully it’s memorable enough to tell someone about or post about on socials for others to be inspired by… together we can change!

Joining us on September 14 is the fantastically funny Fiona Allen. One third of the iconic Channel 4 sketch trio Smack The Pony, Fiona has also been seen on out screens in 8 Out of 10 Cats, Mock the Week and stints in both Eastenders & Coronation Street. Now a stand-up known for her warm, observational humour, she was last in town for the Henley Festival alongside Richard Herring in the comedy tent on 2019 and we are thrilled to have her back!

Hump day 🐪 aka Wednesday would usually be our day off but not this week • 🌧 it’s likely that more rain is coming our way (woo! hoo!) so why not join us and chill upstairs with decent tunes, sensational coffee and a book whilst we prepare for our first ever comedy night! … for those who are attending there will be beer + nachos! 🍻 we can’t wait!
