Dear Banneton Basket Customers,

We wish to inform you that sadly we are closing down on Monday, May 6th, 2024.

We are so thankful for all your support over the past two years and really appreciate all of our customers who have savoured our Pork Chop Bolo Buns and Popcorn Chicken during this time.

We are also incredibly grateful for the opportunity to work alongside with and , which allowed us to achieve some milestones together.

Lastly, we owe a BIG thank-you to our dedicated team. Laura, Uby, Fennie, Yoki, Elizabeth, and Erina have all been absolute legends, serving up great smiles and good vibes since way back in 2022. Each of them has contributed tirelessly to the success of this small food business and we would not have made it to this stage without their dedication.

While this chapter may be closing, here’s hoping we cross paths again in the future, perhaps in a new venture?

Why ‘Banneton Basket’?

It all starts from the three elements of bread - flour, water and salt. Banneton Basket is the name of the proofing basket of sourdough bread.

The passion behind my creative journey starts from sourdough baking - it’s so basic, yet complicated; it has a long history of origin, but it’s also very scientific; it’s easy to learn, yet difficult to master. You are always trying, but you always want to do better. It’s so versatile and driven, and the journey is never ending.

To me, the Banneton Basket is a cradle for the masterpiece before it’s born. The miracle of the aroma of bread is all created during the process of proofing in the Banneton Basket. I love the name. And I’ll keep using this name to remind me of how I’ve started my own catering adventure.
