It doesnβt matter how you get to us, as long as you do! A dozen bikers followed quickly behind by 20 cyclists, it was great to see you ladies and gents- we look forward to seeing you all again. Happy travels ππ.

Otherwise opening is as normal 7 days a week, 10am until 4pm.

There is definitely a buzz about us today! We have the 2nd day of the Gold Panning Championships taking place! Great atmosphere with great people. Museum and tearoom open as normal.
Just a reminder to anyone visiting us that the Abington road B797 is currently closed but you can still get to us easily using the Elvanfoot road B7040.
We are gearing up for a busy weekend for our Gold Panning Championships on the 25-26th of May. Looking forward to seeing everyone there!

The B797 from Abington to Leadhills closed for road works at 8:30 this morning (20/05/2024) and is estimated to be closed for 10 working days.
If you are planning a trip to the Museum of Lead Mining and will be approaching from Abington we recommend you take the A702 from Abington to Elvanfoot and then the B7040 from Elvanfoot to Leadhills.
The museum and tearoom are open Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00am to 3:00pm
