Hi Guys,
I have recently opened up a new small group training gym and PT Studio in Hutton. I offer groups of no more than 8 people at a time, daily classes programmed around a mix of weightlifting, bodyweight exercises and HIIT circuits. It's all programmed for you! You just need to be there 🙂
THE FIRST SESSION IS ALWAYS FREE!!

The Workshop Group Fitness and PT Studio The Workshop is a small independent fitness facility located in Hutton, Essex. We provide timetabled, small group fitness classes based on the principles of Strength and Conditioning, as well as Personal Training sessions with a highly experienced coach.
So why is it that we aren’t always open??
This starts to explain the reasons we aren’t accessible all the time.
The break in the timetable allows us to offer a more varied membership to all our clients
It can help to avoid over training and enforce a rest period necessary for body adaptations to actually take place
It’s gives me a day or two off as well 😉
*** THE TIMETABLE ***
Here is an outline of when we will be looking to run classes upon opening.
These are not yet set in stone and the timetable will be tweaked as you guys trial it and feedback as to what works, what doesn’t and more to add as we build.
You may notice we are due to be closed Friday evenings and Sundays.
Are we mad!!?? Closed when there are prime gains to be made!!???
The reasoning here is three fold and all will be explained in a video post soon!!
A lunch time class, perhaps shorter than an hour has been proposed as well. Please comment or DM if you would be interested in something laid on at this time for the weekdays.

There are also PAYG options for drop in sessions and packs of 10 classes.
There is also the option of adding in a Personal Training Add-on to your regular membership for those extra individual focus points each month.

A twice a week membership option allowing access to progressional cycles focussed around the Sn**ch and Clean and Jerk.
No metcon to worry about, plenty of rest between lifts and all the technique centred coaching you can dream of!

A TIME FOR CHANGE
As many of you now know but many may not I thought I’d confirm the news that after 11 years coaching at I will be leaving this place come the end of October 2023.
I have had the absolute pleasure to coach something like 1000+ different faces over the last decade, some of them briefly, others for almost the entire time. I’ve learnt so much, developed my understanding of movement mechanics, technical assessment, people management and just overall direction of what fitness is to me.
I made my best friends from this place and I owe so much to it that it isn’t easy to say goodbye at all.
But I have a dream and now seems the right time to move on and live that dream and let the next wave of Team13 take this place to the next level.
I’ll never be far away from this place. I was born and bred 13.
I’m Back!!
Like everyone I’ve been using injury as an excuse recently to not train anywhere near the level that I expect of myself.
We all dip in motivation and fall into lazy habits. Getting yourself out of the funk is the hardest bit… finding the joy in why you do it in the first place is the reward.
Find the joy in what you do… save yourself from those bad periods.

has been working privately with me for a few months now on top of when I get to coach her in classes.
She’s always been very capable but never had the confidence to see it herself.
We’ve worked on the finer details of her Olympic lifting and all around strength to compliment her own class attendance schedule and absurd step count she gets through every month!

If you’re short of space, or access to barbells, racks or machines at your place of worship (aka the gym!) then a set of Dumbbells are the best thing in your life.
They can do everything a barbell can and more. Single arm versions or double. Stabilisation attributes. Easily portable and storable without taking too much space.
My workouts will use many Barbell movements with Dumbbell variations so you can truly achieve a great workout regardless of access or space at your local facility.
Sometimes just getting to the gym is the workout and a 5 min yoga meditation for the mind is much more advantageous than trying to rush in an average workout.
Find the routine, but be able to adapt when life inevitably gets others ideas for you from time to time.
