Collection for Turkey Container Appeal Update: As-Salaamu Alaykum Wa Rahamtullahi Wa Barakatuh (السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته) On behalf of Birmingham Central Mosque and Ummah Care Foundation, we would like to send our sincerest gratitude to all those who have donated towards the charity drive, including all the volunteers who have worked tirelessly for the past 3 days and nights. The combined efforts of the community have been overwhelming, we have exceeded our initial expectations and managed to reach our target due to the generosity of the residents of Birmingham and those who have travelled further a field to donate towards the cause. We can say with sincerity, that we have been humbled by your response and your generous offerings. Unfortunately we can no longer accept any more donations towards this charity appeal, it was a three day charity drive, and we have ample items to fulfil the requirements of the charity drive. Mr Farid Feyadi is the first person in history to walk from the UK to the Middle East. In November 2019 He started his "Walk for Peace" project walking from London to Makkah. He walked 4600km going through 11 countries (UK, France, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, Albania, Greece, Turkey and Jordan). Unfortunately, due to COVID he was stuck for 5 months in Jordan and couldn't complete his journey and was forced to return back to the UK. In Sha Allah, now he is going to do it again, but this time with a different route and with a different goal. He will walk from UK to Makkah, but then continue on to Beijing, China (perhaps via the historical Silk Road). The goal is to raise money for orphan children in Yemen and Palestine.
