A tad serious for a Saturday but this is the very basis of what I do. What I fight against.
I left this comment on the feed of this post by Dazed magazine:

Everything has turned upside down. Fashion used to come from the street and influence high end designers. Political change used to come from the people and vote ideas in and out.
We now live in a top down world where media and social media tells us what is happening, acceptable, cool, appropriate etc.
Anyone who deviates from the narrative is deemed suspicious.
The very idea that Sunak, Starmer etc are the best of what we have is ludicrous. The accepted idea that hoodies or trainers are 'fashion' is ridiculous.
Today's society is just a bland watery soup. Culture is dead, which leads to the death of civilization.

This quote.... blew me away. Explains a lot about myself and how I stay so 'Youthful' in my approach.
I often get asked "Where do you get so much energy? Why are you always so happy?"
I've never been interested in the easy, comfortable, settled life.
I run towards challenge and adversity.

So yesterday this happened and then last night as I was perusing YouTube I came across this video, attached.

I'd been told there are pop up shop spaces in the city centre, on the 'Bridge' between TK maxx and the Bullring, (used to take you into Debenhams).
So, I thought that would be cool to do through December maybe?

I went to enquire and it's a place called SOOK, empty space with rails and shelving and a cash desk, very smart.
Unfortunately it's been booked out by NHS for December as a drop in for the public, but I asked if I could have some info and prices sent to me for future reference.

I was told the starting price is £900.
I said "Oooh that's a bit steep for a pop up shop....You'd have to do some trade to cover that and make a profit in a month."

She just looked at me and said.... 'A day...... £900 a day.
Explains why the space is empty.
Can you even get your breath?

How are small business's supposed to survive or start ups actually get started?
Answer: They're not.
There seems to be an actual concerted effort to put as many financial barriers in the way.
I have my thoughts on this which I'm sure some would call conspiracy theories but these decisions are usually top down.

Almost every shop in Covent Garden is boarded up. I remember being so excited by all the small, interesting, niche businesses there when I worked in London.
