Well done to the team at Emmaus North East which last week helped a mum struggling with the cost of living! 💚

She needed to use the community's free washing service, Lucie's Laundry, which was closed at the time.

Instead, staff delivered washing powder and a food parcel straight to her door to make sure she got by.

Some of the first deliveries arrived this week at Emmaus Salford.

One question we get asked a lot is: "What does Emmaus actually do?"

Take Ray as an example. After sleeping on the streets, he was offered a place at an Emmaus community for as long as he needed it. But the support didn't stop there.

Ray took up exciting new work, volunteering and training opportunities, the chance to be reunited with his family, and support to live independently in a home of his own when he felt the time was right.

Data shows that around £150m of clutter gets thrown out by people moving each year.

But Emmaus communities across the UK are ready to take what you no longer need. Either drop it off at your local shop, or see if your local Emmaus offers a removals service. 🚛
