Weather s not too shabby today.
Starting a fairly large job for me 7 days. Taking out tanks, old boiler and flue.
New Worcester boiler going in the airing cupboard. New radiators all round extra radiators with new pipework in some rooms, here’s some photos will add some more as the week progresses. Oh also I am at the Maypole. Enjoy your day.

Next 3 days I am in Monkspath. Old heat only boiler and tanks coming out. New Navien combination boiler to be installed in the same location as the kitchen. Note the sorry looking copper cylinder. Enjoy your day.

Hi I know it’s Saturday. Had a breakdown come in. Worcester boiler unable to fire. On investigation of the gas valve loads of shale on the gas inlet. Apparently the main pipe was changed last week in the road. Anyway after changing original electrodes. 12 years old, cleaning the heat exchanger and condense trap still not firing. I guess the shale got past the gauze and blocked the gas valve. Gas valve on order. Part 2 to follow. How exciting.

Morning, spotted this a couple of weeks ago on a boiler service. Boiler was installed a couple of years ago. Installs ok apart from the gas pipe coming of the meter. Installer must have spotted it but didn’t sort it.
Note the bends! Not much gas getting through there. Back today anyway to sort.Photo to follow on new pipework in abit.

Morning, not so humid now unlike last weeks sweat box.
Today I am on the Bovis estate.
Taking out a Vokera system boiler and altering the system from a y plan to an s plan. The old valve is faulty so why not upgrade to S plan. Better flow, rads more efficient.

Morning, third day back after a long break.
Yesterday was a boiler change In Northfield.
Boiler had been serviced by Corgi the last six years. They obviously never took the case off. With the big companies you are not always in the best hands.
Swapped a Worcester for a Worcester.
Boiler comes with a 10 year guarantee. Enjoy your day.

I installed a Worcester compact 8 years ago in Shirley.
Boiler hadn’t been touched since and now it’s broken down.
On investigation found that the gas valve had melted and the auto air vent had been leaking for a long long time!
New gas valve and auto air vent, full strip down burner clean.
Check using my analyser and boilers is back in business.

Hi, elderly customer with not much demand for hot water. Header tank for the copper cylinder is rotten and the copper cylinder doesn’t look much better.
Gave them 2 options replace like for like or have an ariston 15 litre electric hot water tank. These are small units providing hot water at mains pressure.
Ideal for kitchen, sinks basin and if you only use one tap can cope fine.
Anyway they went for the cheaper option and in my view the best for them.

Today went to service a couple of Intergas boilers that had been neglected. Probably four years. These boilers need a regular clean out! Boilers are happy now going about there business. I think the heat is getting to me. Enjoy your day and wear sunscreen.

Luv it. Just re running a gas pipe so it’s no longer in the bedroom above the electric box. Always use brass clips outside. Plastic looks naff. Enjoy your day.

Fitted a nice shiny new one in a new location in the lounge. Luv my job ‘most of the time!’

Hello, yesterday took out a dangerous Vokera boiler it was spilling CO into the house.
Flue rotten and plastic condense was broken within the boiler. They now have a Worcester 8000, 35 Kw system boiler.
This needs to heat three floors and a 300 litre cylinder. No problem.
Comes with a 12 year guarantee too.

Morning, nice start to the week today.
Unvented direct cylinder replacement on the Bovis estate in Wythall.
Previous cylinder had rotten through.
Cylinder comes with a 25 year warranty provided it is serviced annually.

Today and tomorrow in Hall Green, heat only boiler to come out for another heat only boiler.
Pump and 3 port valve to be changed too. Been leaking for a while!

Customer s gas bills are too high and has decided to upgrade.
Boiler is 60 percent efficient or 40 percent inefficient!
Anyway boiler and cylinder coming out.
Cylinder will be a 300 litre unvented and the boiler will be a system boiler from Worcester.

Worcester CDI classic left hand block leak. Common fault on these over time. Plastic cracks then leaks. New one about to go in. Cheers

Not fitted an Intergas for a while.
This is a Dutch company. Boiler runs nice and quiet and efficiently. Over 10 years ago it was my boiler of choice, anyway this one has a warranty for 10 years. Thanks.

A slightly dull start in Shirley.
Last week was asked to look at a boiler leaking.
Once the cover was off realised the boiler was beyond repair. Anyway today the lady is having the direct replacement boiler.

Morning, been a while since I serviced a back boiler. This one upon inspection is still nice and solid. Abit of surface rust so fine. Flue liner is good, goes choo! Choo!
