☀️☀️ Beautiful way to start the day! Post school run walk. see you all later for class ❤️❤️
💪 Let’s hear it for the boys! Sometimes it works out that only the lads are in class. So we took some time to work on some of the more challenging exercises for them. Here they are learning scissors. It requires control, a sense of opposition between the push and pull of the legs. Obviously the hamstrings are getting a stretch. But as you can see some are modifying by softening the knee to accommodate any tightness. I think they are doing a great job! 👍🏻
😍 Always happy to teach this lovely lot! Some gorgeous spine stretch forward work this week. Opening and lengthening those spines and stretching the hamstrings too! ❤️
💪💪 Roll over on tower Super proud of this beauty. From building strength after a back injury, this is her first attempt at roll over on the tower. This can be a daunting exercise, but after working on her spinal mobility and core strength, she shows lovely control here. 👏 good job.
⚽️Rolling like a ball! Same, same but different! Working with this lovely couple on the same exercise but both have different needs. Susan is working on opening her lower back and widening the back of the pelvis to help great a smoother roll. So you wil see she is holding her position differently. Martin, also has a different position with his elbows connected to knees. This creates more work in the abdominals and really challenges his ability to maintain the position as he rolls back. This is why I love Pilates! Our bodies are all so different. We don't have to avoid an exercise just because we find it tricky. We find ways around of, to make it happen. 💪
Off for Easter this week. Love a little wander through the back lanes to the beach 😍.....Happy Easter All! See you next week. X
💪 High intensity class! I'm currently on a half term break. I will be back next week and have a few spaces for my online High intensity class. This beauty of a fat burner will get your heart pumping, muscles firing, deep core connected, it does blooming everything! I see some serious results with this class. It's Fridays @ 9.30am and will set you up for the day! First class free, please message to give it a try! S. X
💪💪 Leg Pull Solid as a rock! Proud of this guy for nailing the prep for this exercise. We slightly lifted the pelvic position to give him more stability, as this is a tricky area for him. But as you can see, he performs this exercise with such grace and control I had to share it with you! Good work 👍💪
💪💪 Client wins 😍 I first met this lovely lady when I was 16! (That's a long time ago)😉 So when she called me to say she wanted to do Pilates I was thrilled. She came suffering with a back problem that was preventing her from working, walking a distance and exercising. We soon located that her posture was playing a massive part in the issue. She has worked so so hard on all the exercises. But to see her do such a beautifully controlled short spine on the reformer makes me very, very happy. Well done!! X
❤ Gorgeous Monday morning walk to blow the cobwebs away! Have a lovely week and see you in classes this week. X
👀 Spot the difference! Side bend on the Wunda chair. I have been teaching this exercise to a few of my clients these last few weeks, and realise there are common issues that seem to occur. In my first rep (I have exaggerated so you can see 😂) you can see my arm pressing the peddle is not quite connected to my back and I'm leaning more. As I go over to opposite side I'm leaning forward and my head is not on top of my spine. These are very common things that our bodies will do with this side flexion. Second rep - Hopefully you can see as I press the peddle my shoulderblade has more stability and I create a deeper side flexion, lifting out of my waist. The foot on the barrel helps create opposition. As I go to the other side, again I'm lifting up for a long stretch, my left sit bone is grounded and my head, shoulders and spine are aligned. 💪💪💪 We will keep working on this one as it is such an amazing stretch, you feel parts of your body you didn't know you had!!
🙌 Back at client home studio! It was Susan's turn to work on her short spine this time. She wanted to re visit this exercise after having not done it recently. This was her second go and she absoloutely smashed it. Showing fantastic control of the carriage and her body, and really listening to the cues I have her. Again, she works so hard, always with dedication and determination. it is always my pleasure to head over and guide her through. Well done! ❤
🙌Client home studio! Always such a pleasure to pop and see my clients in their home studio. I went to check and see how they are doing with the programme I designed for them. So proud of this chap, works so hard, self motivated to work on himself and recovering well after a shoulder injury. The Teaser on the tower is no easy ride, but his work has paid off and he has made it look effortless. 🙌 Great work Martin. X
🧜♀️ Bit of Sunday morning Pilates followed by a sea dip. Definitely a good start to the day! Perhaps this could be a thing???? 😁
💪💪 2 to 1 I had the pleasure of popping to see these 2 lovelies last week. We are usually online, so it was great to be face to face to check their form and go a bit more in depth. Their work is always strong and focused and they are always 100% committed. An absoloute pleasure to see their progress ❤ In September I may have one private session opening up in my schedule. Pop me a message if you are interested! X
🐕Class planning + dog = 😂 A rather needy Lills as I try to plan my classes. Always a lovely distraction from this one❤. And of course must end in belly rubs for her😂 (Ps my camera angle is slightly off, not my pictures on wall!😂)
