We always say how much we love our army of volunteers, But we think it's time we introduce the small team of staff who keep the cogs of the Empire turning.

Janet Stonham – Manager/Trustee. Janet has been with the Empire for 14 years. Janet runs the daily finances and is the administrative manager of the booking office. She also has a well-deserved seat on the board of trustees. Janet is also responsible for all groups and school bookings, making sure that we have full houses when it comes to our seasonal pantomime. If you have ever called the box office, chances are you have spoken with Janet.

Kris Connell – Operations Manager. Kris first got involved with the Empire as a volunteer back in 2003, not long after we first opened our doors. He was fortunate enough to become a full-time member of staff in 2014. He has since progressed and now oversees the operations of the Theatre, This includes the day-to-day running of the complex, Technical, and backstage, and also manages the programming and hires diary.

Ryan Clegg – Technician/Lighting Chief. Ryan is the Empire’s senior lighting technician. He has been with the theatre since 2012 and has progressed from holding duties in a voluntary position to also being a full-time member of staff. Ryan works closely with all in-house and visiting production companies, ensuring their lighting needs are catered for, things like, pre-production planning, Design work, and the running and operetion of the shows.

Alex Pickup – Technician/Head of Sound. Alex is the youngest member of the Empire's staff and is the newest member of the team. He is no stranger to the Empire’s stage, as he too has been involved since a very early age as a member of the Youth Theatre Group. He has stopped treading the boards and now heads our sound department working with in-house and visiting companies on their sound requirements. Alex also looks after the digital signage around the Theatre complex.

All our staff bring years of knowledge and experience to the team, but most importantly, they all share the love and passion for the Empire. This mixed with the loyal support of the army of volunteers, is why the Empire family is simply the BEST.
