Due to continued growth and expansion we are looking for Vehicle Safety Equipment Installation Engineer to join our team 🛠️

As one of the longest established companies offering safety-based products. We have extensive knowledge that spans over 35 years across the full spectrum of industries. As a Vehicle Safety Equipment Installation Engineer, you will install, service and repair our security and safety systems installed in vehicle fleets across the UK.

The perfect candidate for this role should come equipped with prior experience in Vehicle Safety Equipment Installation, encompassing auto electrical and mechanical skills, as well as excellent customer-facing capabilities.

Working independently, you will carry out work safely and to the highest standards. You’ll communicate with our Service Team throughout the day to update them of progress, order parts and report any on-site issues. Our customers are important but so are our staff which is why are very proud to have a great team, most of which have been with us for many years.

Direct Vision Standard phase 2, are your fleet vehicles compliant? We are almost at the end of February already and the deadline is October 2024.

The changes include raising the DVS star rating threshold from 1 to 3 stars. As a result, all Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) weighing over 12 tons will be required to install a new Progressive Safe System (PSS).

With less than nine months remaining until the enforcement of the Direct Vision Standard 2024, are your fleet vehicles compliant?

Our company has recently undergone some changes that will guide us into a future of innovation and growth. Dave Smith who has worked for Vision Techniques for over 18 years and Sarah Taylor who has worked for Vision Techniques for over 9 years have both successfully completed a management buyout and will be taking over as Managing Director and Finance Director. They bring a wealth of knowledge and experience that aligns with the companies values and goals.

All mobile operators have now started the process to retire the older 3G technology, to allow them to move forward with the deployment of their next generation services, this process will be done in stages starting with Basingstoke and Plymouth later this month and will continue to affect all other areas of the UK throughout the rest of this year, but have confirmed that 3G will be removed completely before January 2024.



How will this affect you?

Some of the older recording units that you may have, operate on 3G and will eventually stop connecting to the cellular network. This will mean you will not be able to remotely connect to some recording devices inside your vehicles. It has also been stated that support for the 3G network will be reduced throughout this year.

How we can help

To ensure that there is no disruption to your operations, there is an upgrade that can be made to your existing recording units that would allow them to work seamlessly on the newer much faster 4G networks. While continuing to use your existing cameras, monitors and recorders, this would also allow your connectivity to the unit and download speeds to be greatly increased.



At Vision Techniques, we pride ourselves on our customer support and service. For each system you choose to upgrade, we will also offer you a complimentary DVR system health check to ensure that it is working as efficiently and effectively as possible. We also work with both existing and new clients to support their systems, even if they have been provided by alternative companies, we can bring your recording units up to date with much faster 4G networks,
