I'm out on the road this morning for trade customers. This morning, we were down @ Alltruck in Falkirk to check and diagnose an air-con fault on a Mercedes Actros.
Found the condenser was in bits. The parts department had one in stock, so we quickly rectified fault. At least the driver will be happy now with this heat wave 😂

Jaguar X Type 2.0 deisel in for a check as it had been to the local fast fit centre, and the system was "recharged". After this, it still wasn't working and was sent to us to check it. We quickly found that the air gap on the clutch for the compressor was too large and was needing replaced.
We removed the refrigerant from the system (150g), which was very low since it was just "recharged".
On further investigation, we found it also required a condenser.
I don't know about anybody else, but these compressors on these are absaloute pain in the butt to change, and the aux belt isn't much better either. 🙄.
All done and back together, ready for the sunshine 🌞

Pipe repair on this VW Sharan. The pipe assembly for these is very expensive. So we repaired the pipe for a fraction of the cost. These hold a large amount of R1234YF because of the rear air conditioning. Nice and cold for the summer holidays.

Tidy Vauxhall Astra VXR in today for a new condenser. The old one has seen better days. Not many of these are left in good condition these days. New condenser supplied and fitted all good to go. Complete with 24 months warranty.

I've been a tad busy lately. I keep forgetting to update posts.
This Kia Ceed with a leaking condenser. Even though this is an older car, it still has the R1234YF refrigerant in it. All back together, waiting on some 🌞.

A Webasto Airtop Evo 2000 heater this time for a Renault Truck dealer. There are no available parts to buy from the dealers. it's a full heater only. Webasto does have a list of parts that we have access to apart from the main control unit. Parts were ordered, and the heater was rebuilt for a fraction of the price of a new one.

This FH Volvo in during the week to get a look at the Webasto heater as it would not fire up. The truck had previously been in the main dealers, and the heater was removed and cleaned but was still the same. We quickly noticed that it was a fueling issue rather than a heater issue. We checked all the fuel lines for leaks. No leaks were found. We also noticed that the fuel pump was a lot quieter than normal. The fuel line was bled up to the pump, and the fault was confirmed (very weak fuel pump). The new pump was fitted, and the heater is now working as it should.

Seat Ibiza in for air conditioning leak. The vehicle had been recharged by another garage to be told it did not have any leaks. It hadn't lasted that long, so we were asked by the customer to check it properly. Using the correct method, the leak was found. Leak now rectified and system working as it should.

Another one from the John Clark Group to get the Webasto heater looked at. Yet again, it was installation that was causing the problem. All sorted now ready to deliver some more cars.

An almost new MAN camper in for heater repair. This is a different one to what we are used too, as it has a Truma diesel heater fitted. With all problems with the branded heaters, early problems are usually down to installation. This one had incorrect fuel extraction causing the heater to cut out. Fuel extraction now rectified and heater working as it should.

Webasto Thermo 90ST in this cracking big horsebox in for repair. New glow pin flame sensor and gaskets, and we had this heater back up and running. Bled the radaitors up and top the expansion bottle up.

As spring is approaching (doesn't feel like it temperature wise) the A/C is starting to pick up. Remember if you think there might be the slightest chance you would like your A/C to be operating properly (for the sunshine 🙄) you'd be better getting it sorted out before the mad rush/parts on back order happens.
This will save any disappointment when there is a 2-4 weeks wait for me to check it.
Also done today was a Volvo XC90 for a new condenser. This one has a bit of a fault in the when hot. Customer drives to Spain regularly, the only thing we could see was all the fins missing which might be causing a high pressure fault. New condenser supplied and fitted complete with a 2 year warranty.

Customer with this Mercedes A-Class had a lucky escape with the compressor pulley collapsing and welding its self to the outer clutch plate. There was some weird and wonderful noises coming from it. New compressor fitted and charged the system with the correct amount of R1234YF.

A brand new VW Crafter in from our customers from the Benholm Group. This one required a Webasto heater in the rear for the exotic plants. We also fitted a large AGM battery complete with 12v to 12v charger. Also a 240v inverter under the drivers seat.

A cracking Rollerteam motor home in this morning. The lovely couple that owned this was wanting the Webasto heater serviced and a fault looked at. The fault was low voltage probably with it sitting about. Cleared and checked operation and told them that the heater would not require a strip down. It was burning clean with no faults.
When we were done with that we upgraded his current standard controller with a multi controller. This allows a lot more features for there heater. Cold air ventilation, timers, and the ability to read any further fault codes.

Late night early morning. Bed time now. This time, a local bus company SD Travel. Old Eberspacher out new Webasto Thermo Top Evo fitted. Problem rectified as to why the heaters fail. A few wiring issues are sorted out as well with rear fans. As promised, back out for the school run today.

Nice new big workshop, still not big enough 😂. Had this cracking built Sovereign Horse Box in. This one had issues with the Webasto Thermo Pro 90. The customer had it repaired elsewhere a while back and had only worked for a short time. As the heater had an ECU fault, we thought the best course of action would be to replace the heater with a brand new unit. Complete with a warranty. These heaters are a 9KW and take care of the hot, fresh water and the central heating system for the living quarters. All nice and cosy ready for trips up and down the country.

A couple of air conditioning jobs for our friends @ J.A.G Autos in Stirling. First, we had the Honda Jaz with the condenser like a T bag. Then, the T5 Transporter with a serious leak. Turned out the inter cooler was swollen, and the steel part had rubbed through the condenser. Both supplied and fitted with a 24 month warranty.

Transporter in to get the Webasto night heater repaired. This one had a damaged controller. We have new multi controllers in stock, so it was a quick and efficient repair. This time for the John Clark Group. Sometimes, even the big guys need our help. Heater now repaired, ready for nights away.

New condenser supplied and fitted for this trade customer. This time for a local bodyshop.

An Eberspacher water heater fitted to a Mercedes Sprinter from the factory. This heater had seen better days and would not fire. We removed, stripped and rebuilt heater with a genuine service kit. It was fitted back into the minibus and now working as it should.

Been a bit slow with the posts lately. We seem to have hit the ground running after Christmas. Here is the first air-conditioning job in the new workshop. Vauxhall Astra K for the main pipe assembly.

We are just about there with the new workshop. We have some finishing touches to do but its just about there.
It's been a slow progress trying to keep the work going and moving premises.

A Scania truck with the Webasto heater inop. We managed to pick the ecu with the Webasto diagnostics which told us the water pump was faulty. New genuine Scania pump fitted and faults were cleared. Now working the way it should.

A wee trip to Cumnock today to fix the Webasto heater on this mini bus. These things are full electric with the webasto HVH system. All nice and warm ready for the road again.

First job in the new workshop. This absaloute mint Frankia motorhome. Customer wanted a solution for heat as the standard truma system used a lot of gas. Gas isn't always available where they travel to. So we fitted a Webasto AT2000STC with 2 outlets (1 closable) complete with multi controller. Very well built these vans.
Complete with 3 years warranty.

Another non serviced Webasto Evo 40 rescued with minimal parts. This time it was local for West Lothian Community Transport. These buses are fitted with Webasto climate system which has an air-conditioning system and deisel heater working together to maintain a certain temperature. The buses have so much glass around them that makes them extremely cold in winter and roasting hot in the summer this is why we use this type of application.
In the meantime its nice and warm again for the cold winter months.

A Webasto Evo 40 repaired for Fife Council. This one was blowing fuses due to a short circuit. It is rather important that these heaters are serviced every 2 years. Especially when they are sore used on a mini bus.
People never service them until they break then blame the heater. 🤷
