ArtSPACE returns this Thursday!
From 6:30 - 8:30pm (although it will no doubt run over until finished 🤣) you're invited to come and hang out with us and the Blackburn Festival of Light team while they create this year's window displays that will go up in The Longroom at The Bureau - Centre for the Arts!
There won't really be any of the usual ArtSPACE activities (we've down-scaled the event due to the new Covid guidelines) however there will be plenty to do and much to get stuck in to!
Potentially some song-singing...much laughing and creating and (we assume) cutting and glueing...so come dressed accordingly!
See you on Thursday!
SAVE THE DATE
The next Art SPACE will take place in person at The Bureau - Centre for the Arts on December 9th 2021!
We're still finalising the details so keep an eye out for an announcement in the coming days!
TONIGHT! 🎨 6:30 - 8:30pm 🎨 2 open mic spaces available! 🎨
Next Thursday evening, Art SPACE returns IN PERSON for the first time in a year and a half and you're invited to come along to The Bureau - Centre for the Arts and talk about the future of ArtSPACE!
Come and join us for an evening of conversation, good food (courtesy of Bean at The Bureau), an open mic and be part of the conversation!
For more info and to get your tickets (a suggested donation of £3 helps us to keep the lights on and events like this going) head over to ticketsource; https://bit.ly/2YHUB9o
Please help Blackburn Festival of Light by giving your feedback and comments and helping secure funding for this year's 10th anniversary celebration!
Exciting news- Blackburn Festival of Light is set to return on Saturday 18th December to celebrate our 10th anniversary!
However, we need your help to secure funding for our workshop programme as we need evidence of demand. If you could take 5 minutes to fill out this survey https://form.jotform.com/212623808691055 it will make all the difference to the festival this year.
Thanks so much
This month's Art SPACE has been postponed and will instead take place on Thursday 21st of October! 🎨
We need new work to showcase in the gallery. Do you have work you'd like to share with a group of like minded people in the form of physical/digital art, music, spoken word, or a workshop...?
The possibilities are endless - there's (nearly always) always a workaround!

Art SPACE returns a week today!
After taking last month off from all the madness, we are back!
As always, there are open-mic spots available, we need your art and music to accompany our online gallery that kicks the event off and will need someone to run a short easy workshop, talk about a project they're working on and bring a topic to discuss in our breakout rooms!
Head here to find out how to get involved; https://bit.ly/2TnLNTu

We've taken a break from ArtSPACE this month but it will return in September and we invite you to get involved! 🎨
If you haven't joined us before, ArtSpace is a great place to share your work (new and old) with other artists whether you're an established artist, starting out or are just looking to find somewhere to appreciate and experience new art! We've had people join us from all over the world since we moved the monthly event onlline back in February! 🌍
Do you have work you'd like to share with a group of likeminded people in the form of physical/digital art, music, spoken word, a workshop...? The possibilities are endless - there's (nearly always) always a workaround!

2 days left to register for Paint the Town! Open to all ages and abilities - a fun day event with the chance of winning cash prizes and lots of different categories including just for fun and children's sections.
You can take part in town or at home and submit online so no need to be in or from Blackburn.
Check out previous year's submissions on the Paint the Town page or the selection of YouTube videos on The Bureau's channel for inspiration.
Thanks to everyone that came to Art SPACE tonight. What a fantastic evening!
Next one is 15 July, still on Zoom. Hope to see you there!
Art SPACE people - we need your help!
Every month we feature a spotlight artist and have open mic/ sharing slots where you can showcase your work, (film, dance, song, music, spoken word or powerpoint / slideshow) but we also have our breakout rooms with the opportunity for people to run a workshop, host a discussion or share a project they have been involved in. The breakout rooms last about 25 mins, are great fun, informal and a lovely way to share experience with others. We are looking for people to get involved and have a go at hosting one of these spaces. There will be one of us in the group with you, and the tech side is all sorted by Emily Lord so there is no panic there- we just need people to share their enthusiasm and passion for what they do creatively with others.
Art SPACE is your space, so if you have something you have been creating at home, or you are on with a project or have a fun creative skill to share please give us a shout.
We have a (hopefully really easy) jotform where you can fill everything in in one place and we'll then contact you about anything that needs support or follow up.
Please do consider doing something- we are a collective space and really need people's input ( besides you are going to get tired of our voices!)
We are also always after music submissions for the gallery too.... Please share with people as well - Art SPACE is as good as we collectively make it :-)

Art SPACE returns one week today!
Are you currently working on a project you'd like to share or something you've worked on in the past that you think might be interesting? Do you have an idea for a short workshop (something that takes 15-20 mins) for one of our breakout rooms? We're looking for people from the community to run our breakout rooms and bring something different to the events.
This month we'll be joined by Spotlight Artist Mitch Oldham. Mitch will present a short video detailing what he does as a percussionist followed by a short performance and a chat about how his life as a percussionist has changed and developed over the last 30 years and in particular the last 12 months. He's aptly entitled his spot 'Hitting Stuff for a Living'!
Make sure to get your free tickets (donations very welcome) and find out more on how to get involved here; https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/the-bureau-centre-for-the-arts/artspace-online/e-gjlxex
