The Octobox is coming along nicely! 🐙🖌

Steven is pretty much done at this point and I’m quite happy with how he looks. I’m now working on the rest of the external box, trying to make the inner panel look like wood!

I’ve also been using my hot glue gun to attempt some edge decoration and adding more ‘metal studs’ to the top.

Little update on Steven! 🐙

He’s now completely stuck down onto the box and I’ve been working on smoothing out the legs so that they ‘wrap’ around the edges!

He’s got his first layer of bronze paint on and I think he’s looking pretty snazzy 😊

Today I’ve done the first dark coat on Steven (the octopus now has a name) and have been working on painting the box to look more rustic/metallic!

I’d love anyones feedback on how you paint metal/wood effects 😊

Really happy with how this little project is turning out so far!

Here’s how the little dude will wrap around the box. I’m planning to add his last two legs directly underneath the body, then end leg tips to all sides of the box 😊

Something a little different for a change…
.a little while ago I found this adorable little coin purse sitting in the clearance section of one of my local stores and I decided that it needed a little tlc!

I love hand embroidery and I really enjoyed making this little flowery meadow scene.

The embroidery was done on a separate piece of fabric which I then sewed onto the coin purse - blanket stitch is not my strongest so it doesn’t look as neat as I wanted! But, I still love the overall finish 😊

What do you think? Id love to know any tips and tricks for hand embroidery!

Hexagon cardigan progress!

It’s growing slowly but so far I’m loving it 😍

I’ve been seeing a lot of granny square hexagon cardigans lately and have felt inspired so here’s my attempt so far… it’s so teeny tiny! 💛

It’s been a little while since I last posted so here’s a little bit on my latest project!

I’m experimenting with this lovely mohair mix that I got from and am hoping to turn it into a little mesh top following ’s ‘It’s Summer Crochet Mesh Sweater’ pattern with my own twist 😋

I’ve been feeling a little bit disheartened at the moment with crocheting, and have found that a lot of my projects are just not working out the way that I had in mind.

Today I decided that I would ‘just crochet’ and see what I end up with, rather than following a pattern or trying to make what I see in my mind as I feel like I’ve lost that ‘creative spark’.

This super cute little chevron pattern and colour scheme have almost got me feeling back to normal and I’ve been having more fun by not putting pressure on myself to create something perfect.

What kind of things do you do to get your creative spark back?
