JJ'S Cat and Kitten Rescue
A Northumberland based rescue helping cats who are lost, unwanted or abused to find forever homes.
Why a kitten needs a friend 🐾
We will always prioritise rehoming kittens in pairs especially with their siblings.
We will consider rehoming single kittens only if you have a kitten or a very young cat that can provide them with the following...
Happy Caturday!
My cats are all lounging about today while the mummy cats are feeding kittens and the big kittens are playing!
What are your cats up to?
🐾Rehomed 🐾
I wonder if there is someone out there who would love the company of a Calico Cat, a girl cat who is 9 and a half years old? We do not have this cat but are posting on behalf of the owner. This is what she has said. Please get in touch if you could be that family.
Buttercups gorgeous babies are now reserved.
Buttercups beautiful kittens 🐾
Wow how amazing are our supporters Andy from St-Clair Veterinary Care and Sarah from Coquet Vets have raised £189 by running and mountain climbing not an easy task!
Thank you Caroline for the delivery of kitten food and scratching posts today. The kittens love this type of food and my cats love the boxes!
One scratcher is on the way to Joan for her kittens and the other is ready for my tiny kittens in a couple of weeks.
🐾We have a family coming to visit us so hopefully they will be our forever family and our sisters have gone to their new home today too🐾
Our sister has found a special home and our other sisters are going home
at the weekend, that leaves us!
We are a brother and sister and must find a home together as we are a little shy and need each other a lot! We don't mind if you have other cats or dogs and like gentle children.
If you are our special family please message Joanne 🐾
Thank you to everyone who messaged about this beautiful little girl. We have found a lovely home for her with another very young kitten which was the best match for her. Please keep checking our page for more young cats looking for homes in the coming weeks. If you have already sent an expression of interest just drop us another message if you are interested in any of our other cats or kittens 🐾
🐾Good news! I have found my forever family 🐾
Could you be my forever family?
🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾
I'm a very sweet girl,I have lots of confidence, love to play and I also love cuddles.
My only requirement is that you have another kitten or very young cat that will play with me.
I don't mind dogs or children who will be gentle with me.
Please get in touch with Joanne through messenger if you think you could be my new family ❤️
Look at us! We are starting to look like little cats now!
Our little family that were really poorly are doing well now, still not out of the woods as the kittens are still very small, but mummy cats appetite is improving and the kittens are gaining weight.
Thank you again for all the support and donations that helped towards vet bills for this family and all the other cats and kittens in our care ❤️
Our new residents. First one is our two entire males and the following pictures are our three related, probably pregnant girls. All are under three years old and have been flea and worm treated and Boys in for the snip and microchip on Tuesday. I have stroked all five and they have shown no signs of aggression they are just overwhelmed with the change in their lives.
Thankyou so much Gillian for the two new cat beds. My new fosters will love them.
Let's make Friday the 13th lucky for these little fluffs!
They would love a special family of their own.
Please keep sharing
🐾All kittens will be rehomed in pairs unless there is another playful young cat or kitten in the household. (Priority will be given to keeping siblings together)🐾
🐾 Kittens will be neutered at one of our vets at 6months/2kg🐾
🐾 Kittens will be flea and worm treated 🐾
🐾 Adoption donation of £125 per kitten 🐾
Thankyou Yvonne for your very kind donation.
A busy day ...part 2!
After a quiet week here at JJ’s just doing our “usual” of nurturing Mums and babies Joan received a call from Lauren at St Clair’s Vets who had received a request for help from the ambulance service asking for help with 5 unwanted cats.
After trying numerous rescues who were full the paramedics hit gold with JJ's!
2 males and 3 females have arrived (all related) with at least two of the girls pregnant (although Joan is saying very hopefully “it might just be worms”)
Updates to follow in the coming days and weeks.....
Just a reminder that Sarah from Coquet Vets and Andy from St-Clair Veterinary Care are both fundraising for us this weekend to raise vital funds towards future vets bills, food and supplies for all our cats and kittens.

A busy day today!
2 kittens have gone to their forever home and Joan's pompoms have come to play in my kitten room for some extra socialisation until they find their special homes too. Couldn't resist taking some photos of these beautiful babies 🐾❤️
Joan here my ginger babies are socialising with their older fellow rescue kittens and a few handfuls of chicken helps the meet and greet go super easily. All are now healthy and bouncing with energy thanks to our Vets and many sleepless nights of feeding and medicating from me. What we have learned through this horrible time is that Mum needs to be removed as soon as the babies become poorly as she is cleaning them and absorbing the infected faeces and it becomes a vicious circle then she can recover easier without the drain of baby caring and foster parents have to step up with prescribed medication and tempting food. I buy three chickens a week and the babies and Mummy Cats love it and I have weaned the babies onto sardines and kitten food. Black and white fluff balls are ready for rehoming now and are very sweet, litter trained and will be neutered at 6months.
We would like to say a big Thank You to Beryl for your donation towards vet bills. We really appreciate it ❤️
Update Buttercup has gone to her forever home and now sleeps on her family’s bed. Didn’t take her long did it😂
Update:- Buttercup has a meeting on Wednesday with her possible forever family.
My cuddle bunny for this evening. Buttercup.
Happy Caturday!
Martha is relaxing in her bed donated by Ginger Cat Crafts ❤️
Excellent information from Coquet Vets regarding neutering your cats.
Up to 15% off during September also!
Coquet Vets If you are a cat owner or want to get a cat, you must not let your cat outside until they have been neutered. Here’s what you need to know about cat pregnancies and why your cat should be kept indoors until they are neutered.
Martha has been spayed at Coquet Vets today and is on crate rest recovering. I think it's safe to say the resident cats have all missed her!
Once recovered from her operation Martha has a new family and forever home🐾
Sarah from Coquet Vets is joining Andy from St-Clair Veterinary Care 🏃♀️🏃♂️
On September 14th our Vet Sarah will be tackling the Buttermere Skyline 27 - a small 27km jaunt around the high hills of Buttermere - checking in at Red Pike, High Stile, High Crag, Haystacks, Dale Head and Robinsons before running back down to Buttermere, and potentially a Mountain Rescue aid station and a hospital.
If you can spare a penny, please help us support local cat organisation JJ'S Cat and Kitten Rescue through their paypal.

More pics of my gorgeous little fuzz balls who although small are perfectly formed and approx 11 weeks old. Brought in from a building site at 3/4 weeks old they did not have the best of starts and they needed lots of time and care to bring them to the playful bundles of affection they are today. We are finding more and more that the good care Mums get before they give birth is vital for healthy kittens as the kittens quickly go downhill with existing tummy bugs that worming cannot touch. These babies will pay a visit to our Vets tomorrow to be checked over and chipped.
