How to get started?
Our CrossFit Foundations class is an introductory class designed to familiarise you with the fundamental movements of CrossFit.
Our classes typically cover topics including proper form, safety, and the basic exercises used in CrossFit, including weightlifting and bodyweight movements.
It's a great way for beginners to build a solid foundation before diving into regular CrossFit classes, as it helps reduce the risk of injury and ensures that members have the necessary skills and knowledge to progress safely in their fitness journey.

As CrossFit and Hyrox become more popular you might be curious to know the difference between the two.
Hyrox and CrossFit are both high-intensity functional fitness training methodologies which share similarities. While they have distinct characteristics, individuals may find that incorporating aspects of both can create a well rounded and challenging fitness plan.
Hyrox is an athletic competition that combines functional exercises with running. Athletes go through a series of workouts, including rowing, sled pushes/ pulls, burpees etc, interspersed wihh running intervals.
It is very much an endurance sport within a structured and timed format.
CrossFit, on the other hand, is a comprehensive fitness program that incorporates constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity. Workouts will include weightlifting, cardio exercises, and gymnastics, promoting overall fitness and adaptability.
Hyrox and CrossFit complement each other well, which is why we run Hyrox style classes on a Thursday evening here at CFUF!
Those who enjoy the structured, race-style environment of Hyrox may find that it complements CrossFit as a method to refine their endurance and running capabilities.
CrossFit, with its diverse and constantly changing workouts, contributes to a more holistic approach to fitness, helping individuals build strength, power, agility, and cardiovascular endurance. Integrating both can enhance an athlete's versatility and address specific areas of improvement.
