Soon after starting my business degree, I realised I was attracted to modules that excited me and allowed me to mix my creativity with my analytical mind. Those modules were marketing, business strategy, and processes. I chose the marketing path.

I have worked as a marketing and administrative assistant, sales assistant, marketing executive, marketing officer, marketing manager, and consultant who supports small business owners.
I have learned many skills and different areas of marketing and business.

However, I have realised there is a downside to a marketing career, which is to create soulless content because someone else tells you to do so.

Let me be clear on one thing. Email marketing, campaigns, and communications are essential for many reasons. If done correctly, they are a great way to keep potential clients warm and turn them into clients.

However, working for someone who doesn’t understand the different touch points needed to create excitement and anticipation from a potential client and asks you to create dull, unexciting content is soul-destroying for a marketer and won't give the expected results.

The best marketing is the one that is created to create feelings and excitement for a client. Most marketers can do just that as they have the skills and knowledge.

However, when the person at the top doesn’t understand or hasn't got the right skills to create exciting content that provokes excitement and anticipation and makes the person feel wanted and heard, that content is ineffective. When you are supposed to copy the content created by someone else, it is soul-destroying for two reasons: you didn't make the content. Secondly, you know it’s not going to give results.

How can we overcome this? Communicate effectively with senior management, the client, the agent or whoever is in charge. Explain why you think the content won't work as it lacks emotions.

As you may know, I work as an International Marketing Officer at Bournemouth University and I love my job. However, my recent lack of posts is not due to my work. I have been diagnosed with severe anemia, which has left me with very little energy to do anything else. My condition is so bad that I will receive an iron infusion on Monday, and I must admit, I am nervous!

Even though this platform is for marketing professionals and business owners, I may use it to post some content relevant to my anemia. Many women suffer from this illness, and the symptoms are often overlooked until it becomes severe. Therefore, I think it is important to share the symptoms and ways to improve the condition.

I am looking forward to my iron infusion, even though I am slightly nervous. Afterward, I will share my experience with you. In the meantime, I will take some rest and prepare a healthy meal for me and my family.

Happy New Year! I am currently in Peru 🇵🇪 enjoying a well-deserved family break.

I am blessed to have a happy life in England and Peru. I have lovely friends and family in both countries, but being close to my best friends since childhood, my parents, my son and my cousins, is what makes me truly happy

I sometimes feel lonely in the UK, though. I have struggled to make the type of connections where I feel totally embraced and loved. This is one of the reasons I have decided that I will be coming back to Peru as much as I can because, at the end of the day, this is my home as much as the UK is

Getting the life I want and vision will require determination and a willingness to make it happen. But you only get one life, and that’s how I want mine to be.

When it comes to business, living an international lifestyle makes you see the world more inclusively, and your life is more prosperous.

I wish 2024 to bring me more of those genuine connections I crave for, lots of trips to Peru to spend time with the people I ❤️

44 years old so far mean

I have a lovely family, two countries I call home, friends since childhood and new friends I cherish, an established career I love, a consultancy, a reiki practice soon, and generally good health.

None of it came easy, but I cherish each part of my life. This new year starts with me asking god to send me more blessings and more opportunities to develop myself and support others 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

When I graduated from Bournemouth University, I thought about how much it would be to work for a company like BU. I dreamed about how maybe one day I’d work there.

I graduated in 2009, and after more than ten years, I got a fantastic job there. I believe in destiny, and what it’s meant to be for you will be yours one day. However, determination, hard work, and believing in myself took me there.

I had to pinch myself while sitting in the beautiful office at BU. Dreams sometimes do come true ✨

✨ I wanted to share some exciting news with you ✨

As some of you know, I am going to start a contract with Bournemouth University for six months, which is amazing ✨❤️
It’s an incredible opportunity for me, and I am so grateful to god for giving it to me 🙏🏻✨

This means I won’t be as active as I am in this account. The only services I would offer for now are the “Get into Marketing” 45-minute session for aspiring marketers and my “Cherry Blossom power session” for established business owners. Lastly, I am excited about a new personal project I am working on. I have taken my level 1 in reiki and I absolutely love it. I have been giving reiki sessions to family and friends for a some contribution for my time in return, as I practice my new skills and help them relax and feel better ❤️ The feedback has been great from all of them.
I will be getting my level 2 in reiki certificate at the beginning of the next year. Reiki aims to reduce stress, pain, and fatigue while enhancing mental and physical well-being through practitioners transferring healing energy using hands, either through hovering or light touch, resulting in significant benefits with minimal or no adverse side effects.

All I can say is, “It was the right time”.

My angels and guides decided it was time to start this journey. This time, I listened.

It first started with self-love and compassion towards myself. I was tired of feeling the way I was feeling. I took action. Number one was forgiveness. I started practising yoga and Pilates, eating healing, cutting off certain foods, and, more importantly, being very proud of myself.

I no longer felt shame when I proudly told people I come from a family where my Nan was a natural healer and clairvoyant. I started telling people I did readings and sensed spirits. It was natural to me. If they judged me, I no longer cared. I started listening to the universe, grounding myself and allowing me to flourish.

Then came the awareness that I was worth it. I no longer felt impostor syndrome or felt others were more important than me. My self-esteem grew stronger, and I started loving myself. I started asking god or the universe for things. They listened. I started receiving and felt no longer guilty about asking for what I wanted. Things started manifesting.

Afterwards, The RIGHT people started coming into my life. I started letting people go if I knew they were not good for me. One day, the perfect reiki master comes into my life. I took action. Now, something is unblocked, and a new journey starts for me.

When I started my marketing career, I was lost.
There are also so many different paths you can choose from, and they require different skills and expertise.
It is best to learn as much as you can about the different paths, but It is better to specialise in something and do it very well. This is a general career ladder example, but it can vary depending on the path you decide to follow.

1. Marketing Assistant - You are a graduate or a non-graduate with at least a year of experience in marketing. This is an entry-level job.

2. Marketing Officer - You will have around 3 - 5 years of marketing experience and a decent level of expertise in your chosen marketing path. You will manage marketing assistants and report directly to your manager.

3. Marketing Manager- You will need 5 to 10 years of experience and will manage a team. You will need expertise in your field, work strategically and liaise with other team
Members from the marketing team and other departments.

4. Marketing Director - You need at least ten years of experience. You will also be responsible for developing the overall marketing strategy for the organisation.

5. Head of Marketing - You will be responsible for the company's long-term future and liaise directly with the CEO.

A few years ago, I started a journey to self-awareness and self-discovery.

I was raised as a Catholic, and even though I still believe in Catholicism, I strongly believe in spiritualism. My beloved nan, a devoted Catholic, was a medium and clairvoyant. However, she decided not to pursue her natural gifts as she believed that was not accepted in her religion.
She used to go to hospitals and hospices to give company to the sick, and she instinctively put her hands around them. She was a natural healer and made others feel better with her girders.

I have inherited some of her natural gifts, and I finally decided to be unapologetic about it and accept who I am. I use crystals and practice yoga and Pilates. I have always been interested in chakra healing and Reiki, and I am so happy to say that yesterday, I had training and attunement and got my Level One First Degree Reiki.

Thank you, Jackie, for being my Reiki master and the incredibly powerful Reiki session I had yesterday after my attunement. I feel incredible, and I can’t wait to start my Reiki journey and help others to feel balanced and happier. Thanks, Daphne, as well, for being the best classmate and for your kindness and reiki session. I can’t wait to do the level two course with you ❤️

I want to share Six stress-relieving activities that help me find inner calm 🫶

Meditation - I meditate in a Pilates class, on my bed or in my garden. I find it very important to reduce stress and anxiety. Don’t forget to add breathing exercises while you meditate.

Yoga and Pilates - I love the feeling of working on your body and mind and ending the lesson with relaxation exercises. Again! Don’t forget to breathe properly when doing your exercises. It takes the experience to another level 🧘🏻‍♀️

Grounding exercises - I love walking barefoot in the garden or the sand. I do this for at least ten minutes a day. In that way, you connect with nature and relieve accumulated stress 🌱

Walking - It’s free and accessible to anyone! I try to walk at least one hour a day, whether is walking my dog, exploring the forest, or visiting new places 🌳

Massage - Getting massages is a must for me! I always ask to relieve the knots on my back to relieve stress and feel balanced and relaxed 💆🏻‍♀️

Pets - I LOVE spending time with my dog Bailey! Did you know that spending time and petting your pet relieves oxytocin for you and your pet and makes you both feel a lot happier? 🐶

As business owners, working in a company, being a mum, looking after others, etc. can take a toll on our mental health. Life seems to never stop and there is something we always need to do. It’s important to prioritise ourselves and do daily practices that help us to relax and unwind to achieve a balanced life and reduce stress 🧘🏻‍♀️

I find that meditation, exercises that include body strengthening and mindfulness, and wasting healthy food nourish my body and soul. I have started grounding exercises such as walking barefoot in the garden or sand has a very positive effect on my well-being 💚

Today we celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. We have come a long way since saying I do eleven years ago.

We’ve grown together in so many ways and we always have each other's back. I admire James as a person and professionally, as the way he handles conflict, manages his team and delivers amazing results inspires me to achieve that. Needless to say, he is a great father and husband, as he always looks after us and protects us.

Today we have also celebrated our dog Bailey's birthday, five years of cheekiness, loyalty and love! He’s the icing on the cake for us and love him to bits!

I am also feeling lucky and grateful to spend this day with my children and parents who came to visit me from Peru 🇵🇪

All I can say is thank you to the universe for all the blessings in my life 🫶
