We also did piriform & nasals here, and although fillers don’t ‘lift’, they add volume, restoring 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘤𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦 will give the face a younger, and lifted look.

Contour filler when first injected will look sharper and feel harder than it’s going to settle a few weeks down the line, particularly if the client doesn’t hold fat in their face. This is completely normal and results will soften

Facial contour before, immediately after & healed 1 month later⁣. As our model came in for a liquid rhinoplasty tweak a month after face contour, this was the perfect opportunity to demonstrate healed results ⁣

I cannot stress how much taking healed photos at at a review appointment as a new injector will benefit you! ⁣

Not only are you showing a duty of care whether the clients asked for a tweak or not, you are able to capture the healed results and discuss the next stage. Photos are just as important for clinical review and legal records as they are for marketing. But when clients whose self confidence has rocketed months down the line changes their mind, and says they’re proud of their journey & will now consent to being shown…you’ll KICK yourself if you weren’t diligent on the photo front!⁣

Thank you so much to this lovely lady for allowing us to share these images.

Complications can still happen to the most experienced of injectors, the key is to identify quickly and resolve.

With an occlusion, time is of the essence to avoid permanent damage. Unfortunately in this case, we have a combination of an inexperienced injector (who we think qualified less than a year ago after working as a lash tech for 5 years) who not only was unable (or unwilling) to identify her VO, she wasted valuable time, rejecting this clients concerns.

This client returned to her provider TWICE to discuss her worries about the necrotic skin on her nose and was turned away with reassurances that it ‘would heal’

The client is now facing private surgery costs and her provider is withholding her insurance details from the client. When she’s requested the insurance details she’s been advised to ‘see a doctor instead’ 😡

This puts the client in the position of spending thousands on both repair work & to instruct and proceed with a legal claim.

Having ‘always hated’ her nose, she now feels it’s more prominent, and is facing a very long & expensive journey to rectify the practitioners mistakes, when she’s already feeling tired & in utter despair.

Anxiety about complications is natural. There are so many opportunities to enrol in additional complications courses, we host one with ourselves & there are other great options out there for less than £500. Causing a complication isn’t an offence but operating like this should be. How many clients does this happen to who haven’t got the energy or funds to pursue? What are the repercussions to the provider? How long is this going to continue? What would do you in her position?

Filler is the perfect solution to smooth out folds and restore lost volume. But it doesn’t tighten loosening skin. So for our celebs featured in their 50s, when it’s been over used, you can see too much volumiser used to stretch skin (rather than looking at options to make it taut) gives a chipmunk look with a puffy look, smaller eyes & distortion.⁣

▪️It’s natural to have facial contours like nasal folds, so if they’re overfilled your client will look puffy. Stick to the less is more rule to avoid
▪️ Always treat the whole face and look at proportions, never just retreat on area in isolation
▪️Check your depth: if you inject too superficial, cheek filler will move and sag with the superficial fat pads. Too much marionette filler can drag mouth corners down or cause a jowly look
▪️If you do need to treat nasal folds look at pyriform fossa too rather than repeating linear, lower
▪️Lip filler migration will cause an unnatural heaviness making the lips to curl in on themselves and look puffy, yet thinner. Like an aged lip. Sticking to your boundaries & recommending migrated filler be dissolved instead of injecting more will help avoid clients like this in your clinic ⁣
