Hailing from Bournemouth Dead Lettuce are a collective of friends that strive to Jam the Almighty Riff. They bring the freshest, crunchiest stoner fusion this side of anywhere. Slow, deliberate and drowning in fuzz they scratch all the right stoner itches; meandering jams, liberal distortion and killer riffs.
Vocally however the band have mixed in the raw energy of early grunge, a combination not often seen in this scene, but works a treat.

Having Schred N Shared the stage with acts such as Karma to Burn, Nick Oliveri, Sasquatch, Valley of Sun, Blind River, Kal-el & Desertstorm to name a few these lads sure know how to Riff and bring a unique live performance of Raw, Passionate, Powerful No Rules Rock N Roll!!!!

INDICA BLUES
Formed in Oxford in 2014, Indica Blues are a monolithic trip. On their previous releases – 2016's Ruins On The Shore EP and debut full-length, 2018's Hymns for a Dying Realm – a real love for the entire stoner-doom pantheon, from Kyuss to Electric Wizard, shines through, along with, unsurprisingly, a healthy respect for the blues. Deservedly, those early releases earned both praise from respected outlets of the scene as well as tasty support slots with some of our favourite acts around; notably Elder, Samsara Blues Experiment and Mars Red Sky.

HALLOWEEN AT CHAPLIN’S

We’re finally here. Halloween is upon us, and if you didn’t get your fill of spooky last weekend, we’ve got a treat for you.

For our Halloween celebrations we’ve got playing in the Cellar Bar. This Brazilian duo consists of Dark Dress on piano and vocals, and Hordak on “guttural vocals, cryings, moans, agony, pain and charrasco percussion”. It’s percussive, it’s haunting, it’s atmospheric, and it’s a bit scary. You really don’t want to miss these guys. They’re supported by No Big Deal making their Cellar Bar debut.

It’s not just music though. We’ve got Katira and Luis performing a dark ritual dance interpretation of the Pandora’s Box myth, and a live sh***ri show at midnight from Aaron Lowney, as well as DJ Ghoulish seeing you into the night. No Monster Mash, though.*

It all kicks off at 9pm on Thursday 31st down in the Cellar Bar, and it’s free entry! Bonus points if you’re in costume. The Firehouse will be open!

Carley Varley - A fresh new Alternative Pop/Rock Artist/Band from the South Coast who is fast becoming one of the most exciting breakthrough artists in the South today.

Carley is a versatile and talented singer-songwriter and musician. Previously a Pop Artist, Carley is currently exploring the Alternative genre, growing up listening to bands like Linkin Park, Paramore and The Pretty Reckless.

OCTOBER: What’s going on?

Come rain or shine, we’ve got something on for everyone here at Chaplin’s.

For the entire month of October, we’re hosting BOSCTOBERFEST, which is exactly what it says on the tin: Oktoberfest in Boscombe. We’re celebrating across the venue, serving up something different in each part. In the Smokehouse, Luke and the team will be dishing up classic German food, including smoked pork knuckle and of course homemade bratwurst. In the Firehouse, we’ve got homemade mulled cider to keep you warm in this autumn weather, as well as our signature house spiced rums - and across the venue we’re serving our new Bosctober beer: a beautiful Kolsch-style beer brewed by our friends at Boscombe Brewing Company exclusive to Chaplin’s.

Of course, we’re still showing live music 7-nights-a-week, and like always we’ve got some really good stuff for you this month. On the 12th we’ve got gracing the Cellar Bar stage to do what they do best: play genuinely amazing covers of popular songs on ukuleles. If that intrigues you in the slightest then do yourself a favour and come on down, it’s so much better than you can even imagine.

Seeing Cradle Of Filth at the on Monday the 28th? We’ve got a treat for you. Straight after the gig kicks out down the road, we’ve got playing in the Cellar Bar. These guys are a three-piece doom metal outfit coming all the way from Helsinki. If that’s not enough metal for you, we’ve also got DJs keeping the party going until late. If metal’s not your thing, Chaplin’s bar is always a nice, chilled-out escape.

As for Halloween, it’s real spooky down in the Cellar Bar. are bringing their haunting, atmospheric blend of baroque pianos, exotic percussion, and guttural voices. We’ve also got live sh***ri performances, dance performances and even more music.

Join us throughout October for our spin on Oktoberfest 🔥 We're lighting the fires in our custom-built Smokehouse for our take on Bavarian celebrations.

🍻 We'll be serving up beer and mulled cider in The Firehouse, accompanied by our house infused rums and speciality spirits. Boscombe Brewing Co have lovingly made us a German style Kolsch beer. Exclusivey available in our new bespoke bar.

🍴 Heavily influenced by our germanic brothers and sisters, The Smokehouse, will be serving food inspired by the famous Oktoberfest. Using native breeds and British produce we're putting our spin on the classics. Expect weekly changing homemade bratwurst, smoked pork knuckles and vegan options like tofu schnitzels, to name a few.
