Going for a pint is actually far more productive and is good for the economy!
If this is true, then despite the budget to have the best sales, marketing, brewing and distribution it is unviable to brew in the U.K. This is because supermarkets have driven down the price of alcoholic drinks since they started to sell them 40 odd years ago. Responsible for the demise of the Great British Pub and off-license industry and the increase in home drinking of wines and spirits. The obvious solution to the hospitality crisis is to stop supermarkets and convenience shops (which are price fixed by bookers who are owned by Tesco) selling alcoholic beverages and ensure that small specialist outlets are the only place where alcohol can be purchased. Which will also reduce alcohol related illness and social problems. But who has the Courage to stand up to the big corporations our MPs, our businesses by not supplying them? Probably not, the only way is the public to choose not to buy alcoholic drinks in them.

ALFRED 107.3 FM EXCLUSIVE:
Guy Ritchie has pulled the plug on his Gritchie Brewery project. Alfred understands that it was deemed no longer financially viable, and the film director wants to concentrate on Compton Abbas Airfield. The company is ceasing production with immediate effect, but there are reserve stocks which will last until September. The brewery's plans for a pop-up bar as part of the Shaftesbury Feastival events tomorrow, Sunday, will go ahead as planned. The brewer told Alfred they want 'a final bash' in Shaftesbury with a '£4 per pint deal'.
With the up coming Bank Holiday; why not dust off your old Ringwood Brewery containers and bag in boxes and pop into Poole Hill Brewery on Friday between 4 and 8pm to get them refilled.
Beers available are:
Headlander a traditional bitter, a little stronger than Razor Back,
Grockles which is an excellent blonde/pale ale with peachy hops flavours instead of the standard citrus but still suited to fans of Boondoggle
or
Stroller which suits your Guinness or # # fans tastebuds.
Jennifer couldn't attend the Maltingsfest in person this year but is delighted to announce that Stroller was awarded a silver for being a top dark beer.
Sheldon will be slightly disappointed as his money was on the Grockles this year!
And several customers had Headlander up for a repeat of 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Why not judge for yourselves and pop down the Poole Hill Brewery for a taste of all three.
New to us casks have arrived, albeit not quite ready to be filled with Grockles for our trade customers. 18 exteriors washed so far, better get back to it, they need cleaning thoroughly outside, deshiveing, de keystoning, keystone holes scrubbing, new keystones hammered in, cold rinsed, hot washed, cold rinsed again, inspected, sterilised and finally filled, bunged and rinsed off.
Thanks everyone for the thumbs ups, love and wows.

That’s the end of jumping through hoops for a while. Never had an online audit before, it is so much easier in person. But my contact a Deep Fathom has been great.

Now out and about on SUNDAY to avoid the worst of the weather.
The Dorset Food and Art Festival will now be on Sunday the 6th August as the forecast is so bad again on Saturday. It will be slightly smaller than planned, but there will be 30 plus stalls, live music and will be well worth a visit
Hoping for a break in the clouds this Saturday for the Dorset Food and Crafts Festival in Poundbury. Fingers crossed it isn’t cancelled.
Lovely day Saturday with the outside bar at a private party in Bournemouth. Despite the precipitation, the fabulous guests, devoured 2 firkins of Grockles.
Never know who's popping in the brewery, except this guy, he sent out his itinerary for a week long pub and brewery crawl a few months back. Check him out for ideas for where to visit and what buses to catch.

Father’s Day gifts at the brewery today and tomorrow from 2:30pm
Last week we brewed Headlander, after fermentation it was cooled to 8°C and today we have packaged into firkins. The rental stainless steel are to go out to trade and the plastics are for the taproom and racked bright for home delivery.
Why all the colours I hear you ask?
Breweries band their casks so they are easily identified. We are registered as light blue, mid blue and yellow. "Sky, Sea & Sand" .
However we have also 100 second hand casks from Lyme Regis/Town Mill and about 30 from Mighty Hop who no longer exist.
Bill has come in to help out with his favourite beer Headlander. Loads of hops in here but they are only gentle ones, this batch of Fuggles has an alpha acid level of 3.7 which means we need loads for a standard bitterness. Incidentally the Nugget that was delivered yesterday has an alpha of 15.8, massive difference we will only need a little in comparison for Sunbather.
Tomorrow is looking perfect for Athelhampton, unlikely to rain, but a cloudy start. The winds shall be doing a full 180° bringing the sun out for the afternoon. Free entry to the market which is worth coming just to see the rear of the house, if you've not been before and there is a café too.
