Our SUBU Advice Team is here to listen, support, and guide you! They give FREE independent, non-judgemental and confidential advice on a range of issues including money, academic, personal, employment and more.

You can find SUBU Advice on the Second Floor of the Student Centre on Talbot Campus every week day from 10am to 4pm with drop ins between 11am and 12pm. You can also find them at Lansdowne in the Bournemouth Gateway Building on Thursdays between 8am and 12pm.

In addition to our clubs and societies, we also have 6 Liberation Networks you can join!

Our Networks are a space for marginalised communities to gather and create communities and are run by students for students. They are free to join and all students who self-identify are automatically part of their relevant communities.

🔥The Old Fire Station is about to become your favourite place in town!

Owned by the Students' Union, The Old Fire Station offers a range of experiences, from club nights to live music and comedy gigs.

As a fresher, you'll have multiple opportunities to discover this iconic venue during Freshers and the rest of the year.

The Old Fire Station is also the home of Lollipop 🍭, the longest student-only club night in the UK and a long-running tradition for BU and AUB students!

What is ✨ SUBU ✨?

SUBU is your Students’ Union at Bournemouth University! We organise the Official BU Freshers and are here to make sure you make unforgettable memories and meet new people.

We are also the home of all your clubs & societies, liberation networks, student-run media outlets, volunteering opportunities and the best student events in town, including nights out at The Old Fire Station.

We are run by both students and full-time staff who are here to support you all year-roundand are headed up by four Full-Time Elected Officers.

Summer Ball is Bournemouth University and Arts University Bournemouth’s exclusive student festival organized by SUBU. The annual festival is dedicated to celebrating the end of the academic year and is the biggest in the UK. Since 1994 Summer Ball has been the highlight of students’ academic year.
