Today was our last day of the academic year!! What a year it has been, we are incredibly proud of all the young people who we have had the pleasure of meeting/working alongside.

We wish everyone a very relaxed, lovely summer and we will see you in September. Also a HUGE good luck to the young people who have left us today, to start new adventures. You will be very missed!!

✌️QUIRKY sculpture from RICO

RICO individually drilled holes into old spray painting caps and threaded wire through them. Attaching it to an empty can to create this impressive final outcome.

Layered art by HOP - how AWESOME is this ✨

HOP designed the layers, then used a craft knife to cut out the intricate designs for each layer, she then used foam tape to create the spaces between the layers. WELL DONE HOP

What is communication?? Communication is the transferring of information from one person to another.

We communicate in a number of different ways...
• 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 - Communicating through the spoken word
• 𝗡𝗼𝗻 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 - Any form of communication not communicated through spoken word e.g. facial expressions, hand movements, body language
• 𝗪𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻 - Communicating through writting words, sentences, paragraphs
• 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝘂𝗮𝗹 - Communication using visual elements e.g. visual cue cards, illustration

Communication is so important for our everyday lives, however individuals can communicate very differently from one another.

Be mindful that some individuals may find some forms of communication daunting, and also understanding others communication confusing.

Respecting and adapting your communicative style where possible can make these barriers to communication easier.
