🌟 TAKEOVER DAY! 🌟
A few weeks ago, pupils across the school had the opportunity to apply for every job in the school, completing application forms against the job specifications. The successful candidates then had planning time to get ready for their day of work, and today was the day!
We have some absolute stars in the making here:
Headteachers and Deputy Headteachers ranging from 6-11 years old spent the day planning and delivering assemblies, fundraisers, observing the new ‘teachers’ and giving feedback. (They also insisted that they needed hot chocolate and biscuits at their team meeting)
Teachers (again, 5-11 years old) planned, prepared and delivered lessons all day.
The catering team worked hard to prep the school lunches and made sure everything ran smoothly in the dinner hall.
The site team made sure that everyone had paper towels, that the site was clear of any litter and that all deliveries were put away correctly.
The office team answered the phones, took messages and got letters ready to send home.
The feedback? ‘We’re exhausted! That job’s so tiring!’……’can we do it again?!’
When people ask if we are winding down before the summer…
Well it has been such a busy time at Atlas! In just the last couple of weeks:
*Years 4 & 5 have been to some fantastic Bradford Literature Festival events
*Year 6 got to make their own pizzas at PizzaExpress
*some of our budding artists took part in a special refugee art workshop with Schools of Sanctuary
*Year 6 pupils went to watch the Ilkley Trophy with Rackets Cubed
*Year 2 pupils visited the Yorkshire Wildlife Park
*Year 5 went to St. George's Hall to play with the Halle Orchestra
*Year 6 started to work on the choreography for their end of year performance with Brad Judge
*Zakirah went to an awards ceremony with SkillsHouse Bradford and won! Young Leader of the Year 2023
*We welcomed our new Reception 2023 pupils to our teddy bears’ picnic event
Phew! No wonder we’re tired! We never miss the chance to give our children every opportunity possible.
Places still available in some classes for September 2023.

We had the best experience today at The Ilkley Trophy, playing and watching tennis. Thank you to our friends at Rackets Cubed for inviting us! Our children were really inspired watching
Emma Navarro and were so happy to meet her for a photo!
Our Priestley Orchestra musicians are here at St George’s Hall rehearsing for tonight’s Schools’ Prom! Did you know that in Priestley Academy Trust schools, children learn a wide range of instruments throughout Key Stage 2? These include:
Ukulele
Drums
Guitar
Trumpet
Saxophone
Clarinet
Violin
Our orchestra get together each half term to play together, along with our choir.
Opportunity matters! We love seeing our pupils discovering new passions and talents 💪❤️🌟🎶🎤🎹🎸🎻🥁🎺🎷🪘
It was Italian week in cooking club. We made tomato and garlic no-chicken, served with penne pasta. It was delicious! 🇮🇹🍝
Yesterday, computer club visited the Media Museum and looked at the history of the internet, photography and television.
We also had a look at how sound is created and thought about how what the sounds that hear can be different for each and every person 📷📺

Teaching and Learning Partner:
We are looking to appoint an exceptional Teaching & Learning Partner to work across our school.
