Woodlands C of E Primary School
We are a half form entry school.
Woodlands Church of England Primary School was founded in 1873, and although we still hold onto our traditional past the school boasts modern facilities providing children with the best opportunities.
We are looking for a Cook Manager.
Due to the snow that has fallen overnight and predicted snowfall today, In order to keep pupils, parents and staff safe, we have made the decision to keep school closed today. Some home learning tasks will be added on dojo and myschool later.
Keep safe.
Evening.
Just a quick update on the roadworks under the bridge on Mill Carr Hill Road.
The left hand side of the road (currently being worked on) will have tarmac laid on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. The traffic management barrier will then be moved to the right hand side and the kerb re-alignment will commence there fir a further 2 weeks. The 3 way traffic lights will stay for this period.
The footpath on the left hand side will reopen from Thursday, although there will be an area remaining cordoned off due to an electricity cable that needs to be diverted. Until this has been sorted by Northern Power Grid, the new lane on Mill Carr Hill Road (that will ultimately make lorry movements safer) cannot be opened.
Once the kerb is re-aligned one the right hand side- the road will be wider allowing lorries the ability to turn without mounting the kerb.
We can’t wait to welcome all the children back tomorrow.
Remember the doors open at 8.30am and school starts at 8.35am. Breakfast club starts at 7.30am and is now in the Pod.
See you all in the morning.
The staff and children will pay their respects to Barry on Wednesday morning. They will wave him off as he sets off on his final journey- and I’m sure he will be smiling and waving back down at us all.
Donations will be collected for Prostrate cancer.
A school message has been sent out on mySchoolApp.
We are looking for a caretaker to join our team here at Woodlands. For more information and an application pack, please email the office

Happy ST Patrick’s Day
Everyone is in school today! Well done. 100% attendance. 😀
Due to Government Funding in the Adult Education Budget. We have several Free online Level 2 CACHE/TQUK/NCFE Accredited Courses available to help better understand some key issues around young people's mental health and wellbeing.
Below are some of the most popular courses we offer:
Understanding Autism (learn how individuals process sensory information, understand characteristics, understand conditions, learn how speech, language and communication differ in people with Autism)
Understanding Children and Young Peoples Mental Health (Understand factors which may affect Young Peoples mental health, the impact that they have and how to support them with these issues)
Understanding Behaviour That Challenges (supporting positive behaviour, effective communication & how to manage challenging behaviour)
Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties (understand characteristics of ADHD, ADD, Dyslexia & Dyscalculia, importance of early diagnosis, assessment methods available to diagnose learning difficulties)
and more.
The qualifications are completed within an 8-week period, duration is completely dependent on each learner's ability as to how fast they complete and how many hours it takes. There are no exams, essays or end-point assessments however I would however advise that these are NOT 'short courses' that will take just a few hours to complete. As these are equivalent to a GCSE Grade C, you are required to write comprehensive answers for some questions. You may do as many as you like, just one at a time.
The only criteria the learner must meet to be eligible, is the following..
Aged 19 or over on or before 31st August 2021
Have lived in the UK/EU for 3+ years
Not already on a Government funded course (Apprenticeship for example)
The course is completely free, but the learning provider reserves the right to charge a drop out fee in the event that someone enrols, but then makes no attempt to complete the course without a valid reason. That said, the college will grant extensions if the learner has a genuine reason as to why they feel they won't be able to complete it within the 8 weeks.
If you are interested in undertaking one of these Free Online courses, then please complete the following link this week. This will then allow you to complete a quick Registration on our website. I will then contact you to explain how Enrolment works and answer any questions you may have.
