Truly started back in 1956, it was then known as the New John Street Market. My Grandparents Donald & Vera Denton were at the helm dishing up the dinners.
It's with great sadness I have to announce the passing of my father Donald Denton.
Dad's passing happened on the 28th November, it was his birthday, he was 87.
Some of you may remember my mum and dad from the original Truly Scrumptious on in inside of John Street Market in the far corner (now a butchers)
I've included a couple of photos and a brief note on Dad and Mum's life.
Whoa 27p for a three course lunch!! Well it was June 1971 😂
It's with great sadness that Yvonne and I attended the funeral of Margaret Eals last week.
Margaret and her good friend Ann were customers of Truly Scrumptious for many years.
What a character she was and we loved her as did our girls.
Good night Margaret
See on the other side of the rainbow Margaret 🌈 xx
It's with great sadness I have to announce that George ( Georgie, three sausage and mash ) has passed away and his funeral was held today.
He had a lovely turnout of family and friends, the room was full!! He was well loved and in turn he loved his family and friends.
We will all miss you Georgie, but now you are with Stella, I'm sure you've got lots of catching up to do.
I know it's a long shot and many of you will have seen this post already.
ITS VONNIE. Please share this for me. I have had my phone stolen from St Luke’s hospital on Wednesday morning at 8.40 ish. It’s in a white and orange MK cover and is an I phone 5.. it has my Halifax card in .. which has been stoped and. £20. Note. All I want is my phone back as it has all Max’s hospital appointment s on and all his precious baby photos. Please share for me and maybe karma will help. Thank you 🙏
Thank you to everyone for the donations to Marie Curie.
Uncle Peter’s legacy for fund raising in aid of Marie Curie will live on as they are using one of his paintings of Venice accompanied by a few words from Steven Davis his art teacher as part of there fundraising promotion. Peter would so proud that his efforts are still helping Marie Curie raise money.
At last and with great sadness we have now prepared Yvonne's, Uncle Peters house for sale. If your in the market for a new home in Bradford, have a look. Just click on the link below. I will be adding more photos below shortly. Yvonne and I would very much appreciate it if you could share the post. Thank you 😊

This is the first post since Yvonne and I left Truly Scrumptious and it's with great sadness that I do so.
Many of you will know Yvonne's Uncle Peter as a regular visitor to Truly Scrumptious and the many paintings he displayed and sold in aid of Marie Curie on our walls.
On Wednesday 9th May Peter lost his battle with cancer in Marie Curie Hospice Bradford. He managed to reach his 90th birthday the day before he passed and no better gift could be given to him than to be reunited with his beloved wife Elisebeth.
Good night Peter xx
This was the last donation to Marie Curie all down to Uncle Peter and his lovely paintings
