Last week we celebrated National Carer's Week, an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don't think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.
Whilst we wish to celebrate and support the awareness of unpaid carers, we also wanted to take this opportunity to recognise and celebrate all of our wonderful care staff for the love, dedication and care you show our residents.

The Marillac Neurological Care Centre is a 52 bed centre providing 24 hour nursing and therapy services for people over the age of 18 with complex acquired neurological and physical disabilities.
We are currently looking for a skilled Full Time Cook to work as part of our five-star catering team in providing a quality catering service and excellent customer service.
Working hours: Mon to Thurs 8am to 4pm & Fri 8am to 1:30pm with the occasional weekend (37.5 hours per week).
Responsibilities:
- To work with and report to the Catering Manager.
- To provide the highest quality of food at all times.
- To follow recipes and cook according to the regularly updated menu for staff, residents and visitors.
- To become familiar with the dietary and nutritional requirements of each of the residing residents at the Marillac Neurological Care Centre.
- To maintain excellent food hygiene standards at all times including: cross contamination and food allergy awareness.
- To collaborate and work with a Multi-Disciplinary team consisting of Registered Nurses, Qualified Therapists and Health Care Assistants with your line manager to meet the residents' needs.
- To assist the Catering Manager in preparing for regular inspections from local authorities, ensuring all standards are met to keep the kitchen at a 5* food hygiene rating.
- To be responsible for the Catering Department when the Catering Manager is off-duty.
- To communicate effectively to all levels within the Marillac Neurological Care Centre.

Requirements:
* Must have received both covid-19 vaccines before 11th November 2021.

* Preferable experience in working to prepare for FSA and Environment Agency audits and inspections in order to uphold a 5* catering business.

The Marillac Neurological Care Centre is a 52 bed centre providing 24 hour nursing and therapy services for people over the age of 18 with complex acquired neurological and physical disabilities.
We are currently look for a highly organised and experienced administrator to work as a Unit Clerk on one of our three residential care units. You will be expected to provide administrative and clerical support for the smooth running and organisation of the unit.
Each residential unit consists of a team of a Unit Manager (Registered Nurse), Senior Staff Nurses, Health Care Assistants and named therapists. You will be expected to communicate effectively both internally and externally, ensuring the team are informed of all relevant and up to date information.
You will be the forefront of the residential unit, greeting and providing hospitality to residents' relatives and visitors as well as, external clinicians and health and social workers.
Main Duties:
* To ensure all relevant data, documentation and communications are maintained in an appropriate orderly manner.
* To offer secretarial support to the Unit Manager.
* To apply a professional, confidential and sensitive approach to all documentation and communication entering and leaving the unit.

* To provide general secretarial support to the unit i.e. emailing, typing, photocopying, filing, minute taking, faxing of prescriptions etc.

We are currently looking for a Full Time Physiotherapy Team Leader to manage our on site team of physiotherapy staff - physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants.
Job Specifications:
* A minimum of 5 years post-qualified physiotherapy experience.
* Preferable previous or current experience in neuro rehabilitation/care, managing complex needs.
* Must be HCPC registered.
Job Summary:
Provide and manage a patient-centred specialist physiotherapy service for residing residents using an array of physiotherapy skills to ensure best outcomes.
Work with the Director of Therapy in evaluating and delivering the current service provided at the MNCC, participating in the design and implementation of physiotherapy audits and policies.
Undertake physiotherapy assessment and design management programmes for adults presenting with neurological complex, acute and chronic, conditions, and maintaining records, as an autonomous practitioner.
Act as a source of expertise on the physiotherapy management of the residing residents, providing advice to them, their families and the multi-disciplinary team on-site and external specialists.
Educate and train junior and senior physiotherapists, physiotherapy assistants, other healthcare professionals and physiotherapy students in the physiotherapy management of adults with neurological conditions.
Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients in your care.
Ensure a high standard of clinical care for the patients under your management, and support more junior staff to do likewise.

• Provide personal care where you will be required to help residents with their toileting, hygiene, washing and dressing and mobility requirements.
• Manual handling, moving and positioning of residents with limited physical ability.
• Work towards achieving and recording your care and clinical competencies through training, practice and assessment from our experienced Registered Nurses.
• Work with a multi-disciplinary team of Registered nurses, therapists, ancillary staff and senior management as well as the resident’s family, friends and advocates.
• Practice promoting the following values at all times: Hope, Excellence, Dignity, Respect and Trust.
• Participate in recording basic observations of: of temperature, pulse and respirations.
• Be competent and receive specialist training in mouth care, skin care, tracheostomy care, catheter and bowel care.
• Demonstrate an understanding of PEG feeding.
• Have a duty of care to work in a healthy and safe manner.
• Use an individual’s care plan when providing support.
• Be informed and trained in all aspects relevant to your role.
• Understand the main routes of infection spread and how to prevent cross infection.

The centre, founded by The Daughters of Charity in 1921 is fast approaching its centenary year. The service is entering into an exciting phase of its evolvement and is venturing towards becoming an independent Charitable Company whilst maintaining its relationship with the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul and the Vincentian Values.
We have assembled a core team of Advisors who have guided us to this stage and are now looking to add to the Board of Advisors with the possibility of becoming Trustees in April 2021. We are looking for people to join who share the values and can commit to one Board meeting per month, with any extra time by negotiation. Marillac Neurological Care Centre is a 52 bedded centre in Warley, Brentwood. It provides care, treatment and rehabilitation for a wide variety of Neurological conditions including Brain Injuries to adults within a specialised highly skilled environment.
Our ideal Trustees will have skills in strategic thinking, excellent communication and leadership, with management skills at senior levels and proven success in improving governance and services. You will have good interpersonal skills and ensure decisions are made for the overall success of the charity.
