This month we celebrated the work anniversaries of three great guys, who together total 115 years of service to Bakers!

Noel Finn's 45 years of experience are now put to the best use in Quality Control. He's got very high standards and isn't afraid to let colleagues know when something's not right! Exactly what we need to make sure our customers only what they ordered. George Gounaris has been part of our production team for 35 years, running flexo for the majority of it and now has a hand in anywhere his skills are required. Phil Bartlett, our Production Supervisor also celebrates 35 years with us. This man covers more of the production floor and office than anyone else because he prefers face to face over calling or emailing!

Their knowledge and experience is invaluable to the rest of the team and we thank them all for their loyalty and service to the company and to the Baker family over the last four decades.

What an epic weekend for Bakers Coastal Crusaders! An 11 hour hike from Eastbourne Pier to Brighton Pier, through Seaford at halfway. Taking on the Seven Sisters with clear views across the English Channel and not a gust of wind was very lucky on those cliff tops! We enjoyed a stunning sunset with a few beers to help get through the final stage along the coastal path. The bright lights of Brighton Pier directed the team to the finish line and a well earned recovery dinner at the hotel.

Blisters-a-plenty by the end of the 27mile walk for most of our determined comrades but a smile on every single face. What an achievement.

This is our third big annual challenge (2022 National 3 Peaks, 2023 Yorkshire 3 Peaks). Each one has proved to be an incredible team bonding experience. Supporting each other through challenges, dips in energy, spikes in pain and then celebrating the achievement of finishing really does bring you closer together. We cannot wait to get 2025's challenge planned...what next? Suggestions welcome!

Lovely work from Andy and Pod Children's Charity, just look at those smiling faces!

Another two hours of fun at Princess Alexandra Hospital Harlow thanks to the "wonderful" Andy Clockwise - Children's Entertainer. Play Specialist Lisa says, "We had the wonderful Andy again today. He had such a great time with the children, bless him. He always goes over his time and was here two hours today which we are so grateful for. We had 16 children on the ward. The mum is happy for you to share this photo." Lots of appreciative comments from parents, including this one, "It made my child smile and laugh. Keep doing what you are doing you're making such a difference for the children." We shall keep doing what we're doing here, thanks to Baker Labels and Dermal Laboratories Ltd.

We welcomed some VIP visitors to Bakers and BakPac today. Company founder Marian Baker (Steve Baker’s mum) took a tour with daughter Lynne, and Elaine & Janine the daughters of one of our former sales guys Tony Carey who worked at Baker Labels many years ago.

It was a novelty to get gowned up for the BRCGS food safety before entering BakPac - much hilarity at the unflattering hairnets! Of course they also loved taking a break in Roy’s, our company bar / recreation space, named after Roy Baker who started the whole business in 1973. A few changes since those days that were sure he’d have been very proud of.
