It's so easy for the garden to get away from you, especially over the summer months when weeds are rampant! A few hours of pruning, weeding and tidying can completely transform a space 😍🌿

So this year, despite being convinced the garden was nowhere near ready, I entered into the Somerset Council, Homes in Sedgemoor Garden Competition. The lovely judges came to the garden and had a look around in June this year, and today I was invited to their awards ceremony where they handed out the awards. Not for one second did I think I'd win, but they all loved my veggie garden and I bagged First Place! 😍🥹🏆
I am absolutely over the moon! Yay, go me! 😁🌿👩🏼‍🌾

There's nothing quite like harvesting fresh salad and strawberries from the garden 🌿🍓

I'm glad I managed to get a quick snap of them, as the kids whipped them out of my hand and gobbled them up before I could blink 🤣

The runner beans are in!
If you have a vegetable garden, here's a few jobs you could get checked off the list this week:

🌱 Plant out the runner beans, peas and tomatoes.
🌱 Sow more lettuce and radishes
🌱 Plant out sweetcorn, squash and courgettes
🌱 Net up strawberries, to protect them from the birds! 🐦
🌱 Sow lots of nasturtiums! (direct)
🌱 Heap up potatoes with more soil to protect them from the sun 🌞
🌱 Sow lavender (under cover)
🌱 Sow more carrots 🥕

Remember to keep everything well watered in this warm weather 💦
But most importantly, keep yourself hydrated, wear a hat and keep yourself safe in the sun!
