For many years, we were told that hair from black and mixed race people was too delicate to be used in wigs. But thanks to the determination of one young hair donor, the efforts of one ambassador and the skill of the staff at Raoul Wigmakers, two gorgeous wigs have been made from Afro hair. This means that we can now accept Afro hair donations, knowing we can use them in our wigs! 🙌

"I think we can all agree that this time is distressing and oddly so too, but for the most part down to the complete uncertainty of, well, just about everything! One thing which comes up a lot is the lack of clarity towards exactly what the Coronavirus does, who it affects, how it will affect them and just how easily they can recover from it. There are talks of ‘Long-Covid’, new strains of increased transmissibility and even the notion which I find scariest: that one in three people will not even realise they have or have had the virus. The mind boggles – do I have it right now? Who knows…maybe? Don’t worry, I am at home socially distancing and I feel very much fine. Its just a strange position to be in when you cannot even confidently answer a question about your own body when you are the one who lives inside it! In this respect, I think it’s quite easy to feel truly out of control…

Now, bear with me because there is a relevance to what I am about to say; there is something which has been coming up a lot about the virus and how it affects us after we have gotten over it and its actually very relevant to this website and to those reading.

After being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2017, Julie McDonald’s nurse recommended getting in touch with one of our Salons that Care, so that she could have her wig chosen and styled before treatment began.
