I have now attended two retreats - and Jo does a great job at holding a safe space for mamas not only to rest and restore, but also to reflect and share our experiences, worries and joys of being a mother.
I loved the embodied flows and the perfectly curated music. I definitely recommend if you want to take some time for yourself, to deeply rest, connect and feel seen. - Elena

Jo and Pri met at the wonderful and knew from that moment that they would collaborate together. After a few failed meet ups due to life, kiddies, illness and trips away they finally came together just as this gorgeous space was opening. Over coffee and chats about the rollercoaster of mama hood, dreams, ideas and how we LOVE to hold space for fellow mamas. This retreat idea was born: rest, creativity and play in nature. The dream โจ

Back from a little trip away. This was the first trip weโve done together as a couple since Amelie was born and the sense of freedom itโs filled me with is bloody lovely. To look back a few months ago even, it wouldnโt have felt possible but now it does. And thatโs super exciting. Coming away feeling refreshed and with more perspective (and patience?!) than before. It feels good to mix up the routine and remember that you can do these things when/ if you want to! ๐๐
Feeling grateful to be safe and with my family today and everyday
Recognising that this day can be painful for so many
My heart goes out to you

Your nervous system shapes the way in which you perceive the world, feeding back through the senses information such as if the environment is safe. A feeling of safety being an essential part of thriving as humans.
When we cross over into mama-hood, we actually become more tuned into the dangers around us in order to protect our bubs. This makes us more susceptible to being in heightened states which can lead to feeling anxious, overwhelmed, depressed let alone the daily stressors we can encounter like rushing around, stressful jobs and taking on multiple roles in life! So itโs integral to our wellbeing that we have ways to bring us back into connection with our bodies, down-regulate and build awareness of which state we are in.
In a yoga practice you can bring about a sense of safety and connection through stimulating the Vagus nerve. Including elements such as creating a welcoming community environment practicing diaphragmatic breathing, doing self-massage and taking luscious full body sighs.
I love to include these wonderful elements in my retreats and classes. Inspired from my recent Embody and Flow CPD with the amazing .
I have one space remaining on my Sanctuary Afternoon Retreat, this Saturday 24th Feb in Hove. If you feel called to come and experience this connection to YOU, link to register in bio.

โRest when the work is doneโ
They say
Well the work is never done
And then what?
Ignore our natural need to rest
To create the space to process
For ideas to come through
Intuition to be clear
To feel
All in the name of productivity
And the toxic thing is that so many of us rely on that productivity as a sense of worth
So when you cannot go at that speed anymore
Kids, iIllness, whatever
You feel like s**t
And your self worth falls
This is exactly how I felt in the immediate postpartum period
I felt worthless because I couldnโt do everything I wanted to anymore
I needed to rest from a c-section birth
To heal from the trauma of birth and a previous pregnancy loss
To feed my baby
Tend to her needs and hold her close
I found it hard to make peace with who I was if I wasnโt โdoingโ
What changed?
I made space for being
And at first that felt incredibly uncomfortable
But over time
And with discipline
I started put rest first
Not always
But far far more often than I ever did before
I connected to my wholeness
Beyond the โdoingโ
But to my precious body
And itโs nature
And wholeness
Itโs this remembering that built my self worth back up again
But this time not on a surface level
But from a deeper sense of knowing
And itโs that continued connection
That brings me back to the practice, every time ๐

You can now practice online ๐ป with me in the comfort of your own home. Land, Move, Rest is a series of three fifteen minute on demand yoga practices designed for the busy mama in mind. Creating space for you to connect back inwards anytime, anywhere, whenever you need to. Inspired from my own daily practice I do each morning to connect to myself.
๐ Practice 1: Land for slow movements to bring you back home to yourself when it feels like youโre scattered everywhere else.
๐ Practice 2: Move for shaking, wiggling and and flowing to shift stuck energy and allow whatever needs to move through you to do so.
๐ Practice 3: Rest for floor based calm to prepare you for a deeply restful guided meditation.
Can be done separately or together depending on how much time you have. Each with a complimentary playlist included to help you zone in (/zone out potential noise ๐คช).

I pour so much love into each retreat that I create, because I understand how needed it is for mamas to have a space to go to and feel welcome, held and heard. You do this day in and day out for your children, often running on empty, filling the shoes of so many roles and these days are made for you. To refill, restore and nourish yourself. To find that dance between movement and stillness within connection and community. To come back to a sense of wholeness and worthiness that can so easily diminish within the life stuff.
Thank you to every mama who has booked onto the 24th February retreat and to our lovely sponsors womens mindset coach for the gorgeous journals and childrens homeware and accessories brand for a lovely 15% off.
If you couldnโt make this one, please keep your eyes peeled as I will soon be announcing another date and potentially the last one in Brighton! Sign up to my mailing list, link in bio to be the first to know.

And oh my it feels like itโs coming today as we cross over the half way point to spring ๐. My classes this month have been inspired by nature and its natural cycle of expansion and contraction. Much like us (nature) there are periods of ebbs and flows which must both be experienced fully to complete the cycle. Iโve been thinking a lot about how we are not โallowedโ to honour the contraction and how it isnโt valued in society. Yet it is in those periods of quiet our intuition comes through. We are able to connect to our true nature and move from that place of wholeness.
Join me on the mat again this weekend Saturday 9.30am to embrace your cyclical nature ๐๐.
Iโve been craving living in greener spaces for so long now, it feels like the more I slow down, the louder the noise of the city becomes. Itโs been a tug of the heart since Amelie was born and if you know me personally, well Iโm sure youโve heard me bang on about it! Nature has and always will feel like home, I grew up climbing trees, making dens and getting muddy in fields. It always feels like a full body sigh when I step into the greenery and we spend most weekends getting out rather than going into the city. So decided that this is the year weโre going to make it happen ๐ ๐๐ฒ.
Super excited but also have that uncomfortable feeling of inevitably having to โstart againโ. Especially now as a mama and part of a family unit, this move isnโt just about me. Like other big life decisions I made in the past! I know though on the other side of that is where the good stuff is even itโs the unknown right now.
So itโs not goodbye to Brighton just yet (we still actually find our place) but I just wanted to share whatโs occupying so much of my headspace at the moment. It really is all consuming, sometimes emotionally draining but I know it will be well worth it to trust my โค๏ธ.
To anyone feeling a pull to move, make a change or do something uncomfortable. Do it. Iโm right here with you. Itโs always, always worth it ๐โจ.

Happy New Year! I hope you found some time amongst the craziness to rest and go inwards. Iโm writing after what feels like a โproperโ break (well as much as possible with a toddler and a lovely bout of illness that did the rounds ๐คช). A little hiatus from these squares helped me feel like I fully switched off work mode and indulged in the slow life.
And you know what, I still am because my body is asking for that. So if youโre still feeling the need to hibernate, then honour that, Iโm right here with you mama!
Some updates from meโฆ

๐ธ: capturing my happy place / how most of Christmas was spent in the daylight hours
Itโs time for me to come offline for the end of the year. As much as I love what I do, it requires a lot of energy to keep up with the content for my lil business and itโs time to take a break. Feels pretty apt to take a little social media hibernation coming up to the shortest day tomorrow and as I come into my winter in my cycle.
Feeling grateful for this year and the wonderful mamas whoโve trusted me to guide them on a journey back to themselves. I know how needed it is at a time of such transformation and giving so much of your energy to raising little ones. I look forward to bringing you more opportunities for that in the New Year.
I hope you find some time for you, to rest, reflect and fill your cup in what can be a busy time of year! Sending all the love, see you in 2024 ๐.
Rest
for the days itโs an absolute s**t show
for the transformation youโve gone through
to heal generational patterns
as an act of rebellion
to recharge your power
to allow the โstuffโ to bubble up
for you
for your child(s)
and the collective

I know it feels like itโs impossible to stop sometimes
That if you take a moment everything will come crashing down
But honestly itโs these pauses, that will keep you going
From a place of fullness over resentment, anger and frustration
Because honouring your needs IS always essential
Because if you tend to yourself, that energy ripples out to the ones you love and beyond
And that is limitless โจ
โจ Still time to book in with the early bird/ request as an Xmas pressie for Sanctuary 24th Feb - An afternoon retreat tending to YOU. If you feel the call head to the link in my bio. You will never regret creating space to honour your needs โจ
Something thatโs been pretty life changing for me is prioritising the rest first, then the rest later. I never used to stop until everything was โdoneโ aka never and then be on the road to burn out. Thatโs no help for anyone. So now Iโm trying to live by this. And you know what the stuff still gets done!
If you feel exhausted, overwhelmed and on the edge of burn out but you find it hard to rest then sign up for my FREE Rested Mama practice. Iโm going to be sharing with you my top three practices that will help you move into the rested state and leave you feeling grounded, restored and balanced again.
