I'm sure you know what task paralysis or 'overwhelm' feels like. You've got so much to do that you can't figure out what needs to be done first and so you freeze, you can't make up your mind, and eventually nothing gets done, at least not properly or to your satisfaction.
It's one of the more common symptoms of ADHD and there are ways around it.

Access to Work is a grants programme which has been going since 1994. It provides people with physical and mental disabilities (including ADHD) with funds that can be used to make work easier and less challenging. That means not juts being more efficient, but it means you'll have more good days at work too. So if you're stressed and anxious because your ADHD is making you feel like you're not on top of your work there is money available for you to spend on the things you need, from planners or noise cancelling headphones up to and including a part time assistant to help you.

All of us are plagued with distractions and interruptions all day long, but if you have ADHD you'll find the temptation to do something else other than the task you're supposed to be doing overwhelming!
It's not easy, but overcoming distractions is possible. For example, you could try breaking a big task down to its constituent parts and giving yourself a small reward each time you got it done. Just don't let those small rewards end up taking longer than the job you were supposed to be doing.

How to Overcome Distractions and Achieve Success People with ADHD often experience difficulties with attention, focus, and impulsivity which can negatively impact their lives in various ways.
Whenever we think about ADHD we think about the hyperactivity, the distractions and inability to focus. But another incredibly common symptom of ADHD is insomnia, which can make it difficult for individuals to fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night. Insomnia in individuals with ADHD can have a significant impact on their daily lives, causing mental fatigue, difficulty concentrating, and irritability. Which all just happen to be among the principal symptoms of ADHD, so one of the symptoms of ADHD is to increase the effects of ADHD.
Helping your ADHD brain get the sleep it needs Insomnia and disrupted sleep are common symptoms of ADHD. Relaxing and creating a regular bedtime routine have been found to help immensely.
