Joni-Rae Carrack & Iain Scott aka Late to the Party Theatre Co
is a theatre-maker specialising in puppetry whose work explores mental health, disability and working with biography. Making theatre and art is her way of understanding life and human stories, including her own.
She collaborates and facilitates with an open mind and an open heart️.
She is all about honesty, awareness, curiosity and starting conversation.
She also currently works as the Resident Artist for CW+’s Arts For All Program at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
Iain Scott is a multi-instrumentalist, improviser and director. Iain’s work focuses on using music to explore the sense of identity and self and looks to combine traditional Scottish folk music with modern drone and ambient styles.
Come see them on the 18th September

Gary Mepsted is a writer, photographer, editor, mentor, and occasional director. He’s doesn’t have a website or dabble in social media, very much preferring to fly under the radar. He revels in the anonymity of authors from past times who could go about their business largely unhindered.

Join us for Pot Luck: Pilgrimage/Walking Work
🗓️ 6-8pm, Wednesday 17 July
📍 Blast Theory Studio
🎫 Free entry
A message from Ju on next week's Pot Luck:
Let’s take someone somewhere else… This could be through a story, a factual event, an abstract tour or of course a blend.
We will walk the streets together trying some things out to generate ideas and to lock into our surroundings – all the while thinking about the person who will come and take part in the work.
Starting promptly at Blast Theory studios we will go outside for this one and if the weather holds we will end at the beach to eat and drink at the end, discussing all the material we have made. Of course, it is England and if the weather is not on our side I will try to bring summer into the studio with cocktails, fairy lights and treats!

Hey performance pals, the Prince Albert could do with your help
MAJOR UPDATE ON THE DEVELOPMENT NEXT DOOR. PLEASE READ!
Well here we go again! We got the very disheartening news that the owners of next door have taken the plans we fought so hard against to the Secretary of State for an appeal against the Councils decision. To clarify these are the exact plans that were brought before councillors last year that they unanimously refused. We had hoped that this wouldn’t happen but here we are. Once again we are asking for and desperately need some more of your amazing support that you gave us last year.
This time things are slightly different. Rather than going to a committee meeting and being able to stand and speak this is all done over writing and somewhat behind closed doors. So what we desperately need is for written representations to be made to the planning inspectorate and I will outline the best way to do this at the bottom of the post. This is separate to any objections made previously on the council’s website so if you did it before we please need you to do it again!
To place your written representation please follow these steps:
⁃ Firstly copy this case reference. It is 3343603. This will mean you don’t have to come back this page once you’re on the website.
⁃ Then go to https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk.
⁃ Once on the website enter the case reference above in to the “search for a case” box.
⁃ Once you’re on this page you will then see the “make representation”.
Once you’ve done this there’s some information to fill out and then ultimately you will be able to place your representation. This is much the same as on objection on any planning application. However there are some points that carry more weight than others. Examples of these are:
⁃ The impact on the character and setting of the grade II listed building;
⁃ The impact of the development on visual amenity of the local area/ Conservation Area;
⁃ The Impact on neighbouring amenity in respect of overbearing development, loss of light and outlook; and
⁃ The potential adverse impact on the operation of the pub in terms of noise complaints and potential restrictions on the business.
The more representations made in support of the original decision of refusal will strengthen our case so much so please take the time to do this. We are and will be forever grateful.
That’s all for now. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for helping us, it means more than you could know!
Big love,
The Albert family!x

‘After many years of playing drums, bass and guitar I became disillusioned with falling into repeat musical patterns. 3 years ago I decided to teach myself modular synthesis and it’s given me the inspiration I was lacking. Modular synths give me unpredictability and force me to think in different musical ways. It’s also like walking on thin ice as it could all go down a different path at any minute! This will be my second live performance and I hope to create something akin to a sci-fi soundtrack including stolen sounds from past genres. Of course, it might all go very differently on the night..’
